Does anyone on here know if they are still servicing pipe repairs? I prepaid for two pipes to be repaired, filled out their form, and followed their instructions to send them to their shop about a month ago. I am unable to get anyone to answer the phone or reply to emails since then. Hopefully someone has some info on their status.

Ugh. Thanks for the refresher. Was hoping that since we are now into October things would be a little better. Just a simple communication saying "it's been received and in progress" would go a long way, especially with the pay-up-front policy.

They are always super busy and usually 4-6 weeks backed up. You will usually get an email the day they get to your pipe and it ships the following day.

I've got to say, the lack of attention to communicating with customers is one of the biggest flaws of many moto businesses.

I get that a lot of these ops are run by enthusiasts and trades people that may not be as polished on the customer service side, but the easiest way to go from being a reputable business to being viewed as sketchy is to leave people hanging and fail to communicate, even if the quality of the service or product otherwise is top notch.

Do not, and I mean do not send any pipes to that outfit.
Anavrin will absolutely take your money no problem. You will get zero communication unless you threaten some form of action.
When Randy was running it you would have seen your pipe back in a month or so.
Now you will have no idea. 5 months or so for me.

I have talked to Randy after several months mine were sent. He explained how he no longer was doing it and Anavrin had taken over. He suggested he was still in contact with him.

If I had checked the better business listing for Pacific Crest prior to shipping I would have been foolish for sending work there.
All these complaints started happening around the middle of the year.

I have since bought a kit from eBay to seal my pipes and get dents out. It absolutely is easy to do yourself. I have since removed a couple dozen dents. I use a small oxy/acetylene torch set up that is portable.
There is a hydro kit available but limited on what pipes it will work on.

I’m out two pipes and a $190.00.

I just saw this in the other thread. Copied and pasted here.

Try motocrosspiperepair.com for your 2-stroke repair. I sent one to them a few years ago and they were quick and did a god job. There is a place on their website for e-mailing them with comments / questions.

Yeah. I haven't heard a thing since they were sent off. UPS shows delivered to the correct address, but...crickets for weeks now. The service work has been very good in the past, but this black hole for communication makes me wonder how long I wait before I have to start shopping for replacement pipes for my bikes. (It's been 30 days, so 6 weeks at a minimum, I guess).

Anavrin Brooks Facebook page

This is the new owners Facebook page above.

I have tried to offer complimentary and encouragement through messaging with him. Typically no responses with multiple tries. Threats of some form may tend to get a response. But expect extreme difficulty in getting him to respond.

Better Business link. The comments here are telling.

Stone if you see those pipes back in anything less then 6 months you were a fortunate one.

Wow, looking at their BBB page, it's pretty grim and consistent. I used them a few years ago (old owner, I guess) and they were prompt, with good communication and very good work at a reasonable price. It's a shame they have fallen off the path.

I posted this very same question back around May.
I shipped my pipe out in early april, got back around memorial day or maybe June.
Like you , it was hard to contact the guy, emails, phone calls, texts, only one reply
in a dozen attemps. I did contact him once, on facebook messenger.
But on a positive note he did a great job, pipe looked like new. Not a trace of any of the dents,
pipe was polished, fit perfect. I would of thought he would have blown out the carbon, but aside from that, he did a great job.
I dont understand why they ignore customers attemps to contact them.
Because of that attitude, and the long wait, I dont think I would use them again.
Wish i could be more helpfull, but was my experience, good luck.

Just curious...are they shipped back COD? Do you pay ahead of time? Or he actually contacts you for shipping and billing info when theyre done?

I have two different methods to repair pipes and would be willing to help guys out if they really need one done.

I don't know that I will ever do it as well as Pacific Crest did but I can make them work and look decent.

5-6 years ago, the original owner gave the business to the main worker. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years ago in an auto accident. Can't comment on who or what the current situation is now, but it's safe to say it's not the same business after Scottie's passing.

The state has now put so many restrictions on the business because the virus that we are only allowed 2 people in are shop at a time. That is why we have not been replying to calls or emails. The work crew and my self agreed it would be better to have us repairing as many pipes as possible instead of some on emails and phones. Witch looking at it now that was not smart and I apologize for that. The best way to get ahold of us right now is to txt are number (541-664-0400) it forwards it to my personal phone that way. If we have your pipe it will get repaired and will be back to you ASAP. Thank you for your patients.

I understand every ones frustration. I wish I could change things but I can't and I know no matter what I say it is going to sound like an excuse. So all I can say is we are doing as many pipes as possible to try and get caught up. Thank you for your patients during these crazy times.

Holy crap. Hire a person to manage the customer communication and have them work off site. They are manning phones and email. They don't need to be in the pipe repair shop.

It's not that easy these days to just hire someone when people are sitting around getting "free $" from the government. It's sad but around here businesses are struggling and some even closing due to lack of workers.

Just stop taking new work on until you’re caught up.

Any lost business will be minimal during a shut down compared to the lost business from pissed customers and a bad reputation.

Don’t take people’s money unless you have a product or service to offer. It’s really that simple.

Stop taking business until caught up. This concept seems so simple.
I thought the same thing was to have someone answering the phone and responding to emails/texts. Take one day a week to notify clients of a time line for their pipes already sent to.
Update your Facebook page or whatever other social medium you use.

At this point he is creating his own competition. Clients with pipes are now looking at doing the work themselves.
That is completely needless and avoidable.
Additionally those who have had no communication are seeking relief through other means. Filing complaints, looking at Law Enforcement options and possibly pursuing civil action.

You cannot sustain a business as it is currently being ran. No way would I send another pipe that direction.

The word is spreading about how he is conducting business currently.

If I get my pipes back and fixed I will absolutely get on this thread and say so. As it is you would be insane to send work to Pacific Crest Pipe Repair.

There are suspension companies that do the same thing. Send them your suspension and then when you call no one answers. Many attempts. And people still use this company.

Pipe repair is simple. Maybe more people should do it 🤫

I bought a kit off eBay for $100, I've since repaired 5 pipes and I have 3 2 strokes in the shed. It has already paid for itself and it will get continued use until I no longer have ICE bikes in the shed

My friend bought one of these for $250.
Best investment ever. Charges $50 to fix a pipe.
Paid for it the first week he had it.

I have one of those also. It’s nice but definitely still has its drawbacks and limitations.

For about $25 I made an assortment of sizes of automotive rubber motor freeze plugs and a wheel valve stem to pressurize the pipe and some fabricated brackets so the plugs do not pop out and closely monitoring as Heat expansion increases the pressure. Lower pressures around 30-40 psi work better.

IF YOU TRY THIS BE CAREFUL BECAUSE IF THE PLUG POPS OUT IT FLIES LIKE A BULLET !!!

I have repaired the dings in my own pipes before but the big guys have Tons of jigs for each model with all the mounting points so they can re align a mangled pipe.

For anyone trying to blow out their own pipes using nitrogen pressure instead of air is much safer when using a torch to heat the damaged spots - prevents the pipe from turning into a bomb.

Fair is fair, so I have to get back on here to say that, out of the blue, my repaired pipes showed up on my doorstep today. It has been almost 90 days since I prepaid for the service work and sent them off. During that time I emailed, called, and texted this business literally every week day for more than two straight months to get any sort of confirmation that they had received the pipes, and/or were planning to actually do the work. Zero communications back from Pacific Crest. Ironically I got an email from UPS indicating that a shipment had been initiated from Oregon exactly two weeks after I filed a claim with my credit card company to dispute the charges for services not received. The work on the pipes was decent, not perfect, but I'm feeling incredibly lucky that I'm not out $250/pipe to replace these things. It's unbelievable that the current owner actually runs his business like this...
