Glad to see motoplayground reviving the Ponca City, OK National. Looks like a majority of the top amateurs are in attendance.

Once NMA got the boot and moto playground took over it gets stronger every year and now that riders are pickier and choose fewer races to hit the rider turnout grows every year. Even though its not cheap to go its less money than LLs. But when it comes down to it, both races are worth going to. I likes it when you would do Ponca then drive all night to LLs and do both races.

Ponca is half of what LL is. Multiple reasons.

How many more times is Ponca going to come back? Seems every year “Ponca is back!” Still is nothing what it used to be.

Yeah we went the first year and haven't been back since. Way over priced for what it is. Much better races to go to for less money. Ponca used to be awesome. It wasn't awesome when we went.

NMA had a great race for years and then they started to suck it dry and stuck it to the riders so they quit coming, even AC when he was the king of the minis told them he would not come back. Finally NMA went all but out of business and a few different attempts to get Ponca going and then they had competing races in OKC but they fell flat too. Then Moto Playground came in and it took a few years but the classes are full again and they treat the riders right, looks like people are hitting both LLs and Ponca again and it helps that its not in August when its so hot and nasty.

Haven't they had a few LL regionals there in the last few years?

Not sure what you looked at but those classes weren't full.

Kitchen, Leblanc, Amerine, Romano, Reynolds, Bennick, Deegan, Jarvis, Dunn, and many more fast amateurs were in attendance. It might not totally be back to the glory days but it's almost there, and it's exciting to see the transformation over the past few years thanks to motoplayground!

It's definitely gaining some traction. Harold and the Moto Playground crew are doing a great job.

Yes, they had a LL Regional there this year.

BTW, there is only 1 AMA National and of course that is LL. A lot of people call these AMA "Major Events" or "Featured Events" nationals, but they are not. The only way a rider can be an AMA Amateur Champion is to win Loretta's. Just sayin'...

Haiden Deegan won two titles. Gonna be fun to watch him move up to big bikes.

True.

Its was the NMA National Championship. Riders that won that race were considered an NMA National Champion.

My point was that a lot of people including in the "industry" call AMA Featured Events, and AMA Major Events a national. Like the Spring Championship at Freestone, Mini O's and a few others. No where on those events awards or advertising will you see the word "national."

Because there is only 1 AMA Amateur National and that is Loretta's.

He should be racing against Ferry and not cherry picking.

I don't think he's cherry picking is he? Haiden doesn't have a 125 race bike. He races superminis. Ferry doesn't race superminis.

I suppose Deegan and Ferry could battle in Schoolboy, but Haiden would be on a lesser bike.

I just seen a video where Bryan talks about his kid riding national tracks to get use to them. You gotta stary racing your future completion sooner or later. Id say the sooner the better.

Getting your driver's lisence before riding a big bike seams like a joke.

The kid is racing on the bike size and age group that he fits in. What is not fair? That is not cherry picking. Get a clue.
