Everyone keeps repeating this falsehood about Stewart refusing to ride outdoors. No one has offered him a job riding outdoors for the last few years. What's he supposed to do, put a stock bike in the back of his pickup and drive to all the races? Spend his savings to drive across America to finish 17th?
So he's worth mega millions and he has to spend 50k? So most those finishing 16th could make alot, if they were only factory sponsored. Yet most have no money, (compared), and finish 16th.
Just stating sad truth.

What makes you think he's worth megamillions? I doubt he's has a net worth of one million let alone big amounts of cash in the bank. So many of these guys end up broke.

True, but still, 'most likely'.

If the rumor of GEICO riders is true and are free agents, I would like PC Kawasaki to sign Jett Lawrence

It'd be smart for them to pick up some of the Lawrence bros. Jett would probably a good fit. If these rumors are true, any shot of JMART going to star Yamaha? Not sure how things were left when we left the team.

I think they probably have just too many young guys coming up for him to fit there

0% chance Martin goes back to Star. I think at the end of his time there he was pitting off the back of the semi under an EZ up.

Gotcha! I figured something happened if he made the switch to GEICO. I heard whispers of some issues between him & webb? or Yamaha picking Webb as the golden boy for Yamaha. Not sure though.

Is Baggett locked in at RMATVMC? I know there was rumblings (believe earlier in this thread) about him not happy with the team, and the team possibly going away. If not, he could be a prime candidate for the TLD GasGas 450 spot.

I like Baggett, but if he was a baseball player he would be hitting .053. Way too inconsistent to take a prime ride at a factory in my opinion.

Aren’t there grumblings that Rocky Mountain might not have a team next year?

Sounds like they will be back. Hopefully Baggett will stay and fulfill his contract. He’s been riding great lately.

It's good to see the old (or younger) Blake back.

When he’s riding with confidence, he can run with any of these guys. Great rides this weekend, he was ripping !

Would MCR do outdoors if they got J-Mart? Presuming he’d be on a 450 with them it’d be awesome to have another top 5-10 guy

With all these bike shops sold out, there should be plentiful amounts of marketing cash available for 2021.... but we will see.... most of that cash will end up somewhere other than pro rider's pockets....

So Dungey might be back on Honda and Barcia gets a contract from the Austrian camp. 2020 at your service.

I was thinking the same, everyone seems to be having it away , but its 'tough times for teams'.

That said, this might just be pulling people back from the brink.

But for me , the Dungey thing is a bit odd... think about it , guy makes a shit ton of money ( nothing wrong with that ), and then bails mid contract.. thats his choice and i dont begrudge him that either. When you done, you done.

But coming back, he should be setting up his own gig , like Reed, and doing it that way, not expecting someone else to pony up the $$ so he can make a load more.

Most team budgets are made up from outside sponsor money not related to bike sales....not every current or potential outside sponsor has had a good year...

You say that , and i get where you are coming from, but KTM is Red Bull, Husky is Rockstar, Yamaha and Kawi are Monster.. MCR is Smart Top and i would hazard they are doing ok, etc etc. All the bikes and gear stuff, are flying out, so associated stuff cant not be.

I get that there are a few that might be biting , but who is going away other than Geico, that you know of.

JGR picked up a sponsor too.

If they are going to save money , fuck all the amateur budget off and pay pro's pro wages.

Dungey has a lot more going for him...and for a prospective team or group of sponsors than Reed. Reed is over. Let’s face it. Dungey stepped away while he was still winning & still hot. He is also still a young man with years left in a career if he chooses to jump back into racing. I believe he will find it very easy to find sponsors eager to invest in his program. Given all that, why would he be expected to do the privateer routine in a Sprinter van? He has the position, potential, history as a proven winner, & perhaps the clout to have a major team to look at him seriously.
