Starting a build on a 2008 yz250f And 2006 yz125 and I have been scavenging the internet for any and every picture of that generation of bikes for inspiration. Currently my favorites are between these but would love for you guys to share any pics that you have. Doesn’t have to be a pro bike either! Just want to see some cool ideas with the older body style.

YZs in general have always been my favorite bikes. I actually hated every YZ 4 stroke from a looks standpoint, until 2014 lol (for 450 and 2010 for 250F). I loved the 96-01 bikes. Probably the most timeless body style, in my opinion.

I love all of the YOT bikes and I currently have a graphics kit that I designed, that is YOT inspired. I just have not installed it yet. It's for a '19 YZ125 as I too was looking for some retro inspiration.

Those two bikes are the gold standard by which all (blue) YZ's should be judged.

I'm with you! the 96-01 bikes will always have a special place in my memory, particularly the 99-01's

Pedro,s 95 sx NCY bike. My pu was white like Pedro in the fox vid. Other pics r Millville small table top, had to turn the bike in air- using technique- drop left elbow in , left leg pressure off peg, push left knee into bike, looking at rut to land in. Day after the national. Mike vet a rider from Cali took pic. 98 ncy had a cool, graphics kit called ghost also.

Same. The new airbox sucks to me. I just loved the pre 2015 yz's.

Interesting. I never cared for that style. Someone mentioned above about Reed's bikes being the standard, not to me. Just because I thought the 02 plastic was a huge downgrade to the 01. But I do like the 15+. I also like the 91-92 a lot like shown above.

That was me. I never liked the pre-2002 plastics, at least the side panels. They were very dainty looking to me. Any side panels that need a MIT engineer to fit a three-digit number on make no sense to me. But.......all of this is VERY subjective, and beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, so there are no wrong (or right) answers.

Absolutely. I feel like I am actually in the minority though. I just remember the 02 coming out and being somewhat let down by the looks of them, compared to the 00 I had back then. And I think the 02 Hondas, sort of stole the show, for me. So I've just never fell in love with that body style, like I did the others. That being said, the Reed bikes are still among my favorite Factory bikes ever, along with Metcalf's 05 125.

I have always enjoyed that body style as well. Here is a 125 and 250 that I have had in the past that I loved. Wish I never sold that yz250 it had no hours on it when I got it for a very good deal.
Always enjoy AJ Maggi’s bikes and loved that yz125 he had.

I wish there were more pictures floating around of the 06-09 4 strokes too. Loved those bikes back then.

They were pretty cool looking

I like the 93-95s , not my fav though. I prefer the stock-looking bike that Bradshaw and Jeffro had, compared to the Noleen or NCY bikes, of that era.

I did like the 98 Noleen bike though.

I had Jeff Wilohs 97 YZ125 bike, betcha it is in great condition yet. Told buyer it runs on race fuel. He buys it and says it doesn’t need race fuel does it.
