I was there yesterday and they told me they discussed limiting the number of fans but decided not to because they are an Indian reservation and can do whatever they want.

Gotta love getting thumbs down for passing along exactly what I was told by a Pala employee.

There must be a lot of angry keyboard warriors furiously browsing the web in their mom's basements today.

I work for another tribe. We are breaking records in every gaming category . Feel bad for the Los Angeles card rooms that are shut down.

Just a wild ass guess but cv19 has killed the equivalent of 50x that of the 911 world trade towers so far in 2020 in the usa. Might be the reason.

The flu and Medical malpractice kill plenty of people every year too. Should we just quit going to the races because people die? Wash your hands and move on with your life.

How can you equate medical malpractice with an infectious disease that has killed nearly 200,000 people in less than a year?

Personally, I have no problems if Pala allows spectators, but it should be limited, masks worn, and use social distancing for the safety of themselves and others.

They can't do whatever they want; they are still federally mandated if they are a federally recognized tribe, with Congress having ultimate authority. The state has no authority over them, and because there is no federal mandate to wear masks, limit gatherings, etc. they can get away with it. One would hope that they would do the right thing and limit the audience and have people wear masks and practice social distancing.

It sounds like the reason the U.S. has the most cases and most deaths, and is lagging behind while other countries are moving forward. Canada just revealed that they had no COVID 19 deaths in the last day. Here in the states, we had over 1300.

I don't deal out thumbs down, only thumbs up. What you are saying is essentially true, and if the tribe allows anyone to attend, I would just hope that people would wear masks and be smart. I would think the tribes themselves would want to be as safe as possible since many of those who live on reservations are lower income, and many are limited to getting their healthcare from the tribal health centers which have limited resources in many cases. I would also think that the promoters, MX Sports, and others would not want an event where people are not being careful, which brings up an interesting point: Can MX Sports require attendees to wear masks and practice social distancing at their events?

Reality is 9500 cases are just Covid cases. All others had a secondary disease like heart disease, diabieates. If those people caught the “flu” virus they would be dead also. So 9500 out
Of how many millions of people is what....00000002%. My wife’s a nurse and I know 1st hand how they are driving these numbers up. You believe what you want,I’ll believe what I want. Wear your mask, mask is about control, putting fear in the Americans mind.

Also what do you think is going to happen when kids go back to school? They will get sick because they have no immune system, this will cause havoc guaranteed.what is the long term effects of breathing in your co2 for months from a mask?

Heres a tip - IF you or anyone in your fam have an underlying medical condition that has weakened your/their immune system, Don't go to Pala to watch in person - Stay home and watch the great coverage on NBC Sports Gold.

There - Problem Solved.

See how easy that was?

Because all anybody ever wants to talk about is death like it’s somehow definitively avoidable. First it was how many people guns kill in a year now it’s COVID. Guess what? Medical malpractice trumps both of them. And medical malpractice while not contagious kills even more than 200k every year. We all die eventually and we’re all capable of making our own decisions. And if you’re trying to be safe, what’s safer than being outside in the sun at a huge racetrack like Pala, socially distanced while watching motocross? Pretty sure that’s better for your immune system than siting on the couch eating potato chips in the AC. Not being political either just my $0.02 I am neither democrat nor republican

Pala tribe low income? Lol each tribal member brings in 15 grand a month in per cap. San Manuel tribe each brings in 80 grand each a month

True. With their share of casino earnings, there are no low income Pala tribe members.

Ironically, the recent John Hopkins study shows people with good doses of vitamin D (sunlight) are showing better results to COVID-19 than those with lower vitamin D levels.

The paddock will be closed to the public, no autograph sessions, limited spectators, and essential team personnel are required to stay under their own tents and wear masks when they are not. The teams have been really proactive with the social-distancing and mask protocols that we all put together--the teams, the promoters, the series, the Safe 2 Race task force. Only one person per rider on the starting gate and in the mechanics' area, and masks are required. Even the podiums are social-distanced now...

Some of it may seem a little bit over the top to some others, but it's what we have to do to get the series up and running and completed in a very tenuous time. The least we can all do is wear a mask, whether at the race track or anywhere else where people are susceptible to an airborne virus.

Five down, four to go.

Great to know, and thank you for your answer. I agree that the least everyone can do is wear a mask since we are all in this together, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the races however I can (which for me in on my computer screen and not at the races).
