What are guys doing to stay cool ? I'm going to Glen Helen for a 2 day race in triple digit temps. Oh joy ! 
We figured it'd be hot since it's September but wasn't planning on 114 degrees 
Monday will hopefully be going to the beach to cool down.

Although, I’m gonna be workin in it all weekend now...
When it's 50 I'm freezing I could never imagine shoveling snow in the driveway and dealing with the car to make sure it runs to go to work every day. I've heard in some states you have to plug in some type of heater To make sure your engine block is not frozen. Sounds like crazy stuff to me!!
But then I'm sure dealing with 115ﾟ heat sounds just as crazy to you and I have to admit this 2020 summer was the worst ever in Arizona in my 33 years here.
We had record temps and had over 50 days where it was at least 111 or HIGHER!
Previous record was 20!!!
Can't wait for it to cool down just got in a little while ago from some extensive yard work and just about died!

109 tomorrow and Monday, I'll be at the track at 8:00, done by 1:00. It'll still suck, definitely looking forward to October.
After working on the mountain for ten months, the heat bothered me during the summer. Grew up in So Cal, lived in Portland for ten years, froze my ass off for several months on Rainier and now have lived in the Seattle area 12 years.
It used to be the hotter the better. Now, I’ll take 70* over anything. On a side note, after all these years, I still hate the rain in the PNW.

I honestly do not know how people lived in Arizona before air conditioning.
That and the guy who came up with the idea of creating a dam on the Salt River now Roosevelt Lake and a chain of lakes, Apache, Canyon and Saquaro Lakes.
It was called the Salt River project which is our electric company SRP the dam was named after president Roosevelt as he went up there on the treacherous Apache Trail and christened it.
Without those four Lake river reservoirs the many sprawling cities of Arizona would never have been created.

Saquaro Lake is 15 minutes from the casa and Canyon is about 40 minutes.
But keep it on the downlow, Arizona is just a dry dusty town with tumbleweeds and Rattlers....
The Californians are moving out here in droves and fuckin it up!

I’m planning on making a trip out there and that weekend seems to be the one that is going to work.
Visited my daughters down there last summer during a heat wave and the humidity just felt oppressive.
Have too many pre-cancers scraped off my bald dome every year to bake in the sun any longer.
Hell, I don't even go in our pool if it's over 95 until the sun moves enough to create a decent shadow over it!
I guess the one nice thing about living in places where the weather is shit for 6 months of the year. Is that you can buy cheap enough to afford another place just like it.
This winter is going to suck without spending time there. But all y'alls is a bunch of plague rats right now so I'll begrudgingly find a way to enjoy the winter here in Canada for a change.
Screw that , I could / would not EVER live in that. Give me 50 degrees and rain , any day , and every day , before I live in that.
