Jarvis has a special sole that has amazing grip. It really digs in, flexes and is soft. As far as I know he is sticking with the Crossfire 3’s.
I have been using my son's Fox Instinct boots, and while they are a little bit more comfy than the Sidi's, the protection feeling is not nearly as good.
Last July I tore my achilles while in a pair of very well worn SG-10's. I wear extra wide boots, so was nervous about the width of Sidi boots. I wanted boots with positive stops against dorsiflexion, and the Atojo boots have a system for just that.
The footbed is very rigid, so I don't get the feeling of the boot's sole bending when flat landing a large jump. The boots are really narrow, and the sole gets a good purchase on my stock KTM footpegs. As a result, I feel very secure on the bike. There isn't much feeling on the shifter (and none on the brake pedal), but the toebox is low profile enough that it gets under the shifter without issue. The first day I accidentally hit neutral a few times, but today only once. After a couple more rides that will cease to be an issue. The buckle system is excellent, easy to clamp down, and easy to undo after a day of riding.
My only real beef is that the system used to prevent hyperextension and excessive dorsiflexion isn't nearly strong enough. It's there, it helps, but there's no way it stops a torn achilles when coming up short on a triple. It's not nearly strong enough to do that. That said, I have yet to see a boot that will prevent such an injury.
