If I got it right from the video, the big thing with the system is that the bicycle does the change from uphill to downhill setting by itself which is probably a great addition.
But what would a electronic suspension do on a MX bike? You could add a GPS-Sensor and setup the bike for different parts of the track. But considering that a lot of guys never set the sag on their bikes... little overkill

Fox has e suspension on ax’s that take thousands of readings a second and adjust the clickers accordingly. Also can tell when the suspension is fully existences so it then cranks in the compression to help with the landing. It’s all well and great but will add weight and over complicate things. Maybe in pro sx it would be a advantage to basically lock out the forks in the whoops but that’s really all I could see it being used for. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lol i was curious what an Ax with electric suspension was. Polaris seems to be having really good reviews/feedback on their "Dynamix" suspension setup. It is made with/by Fox.

It would also allow your wheels to track the ground better, can tell when the bike is layed over in a turn and makes adjustments for those situations, not just jumps and bumps.

Weight isn't really that much of an issue as the sensors and brain are very small.

IMO, one of the coolest aspects of electronic controlled suspension in motocross would be that the manufacturer could deploy the exact same suspension components in the same configuration for all bikes and then tailor each bike through a series of electronic damping and spring force reference tables. Changing your "valving" would be just like flashing custom ignition and fuel maps into the ecu on your 4-stroke. Something like KONI's ACTIVE technology would be rad.

Imagine having a simple up/down switch on your handlebar for stiffening or softening your damping curve on the fly, controlling something like this:

This is not a new concept by any means.. Cannondale came out with their Simon concept fork about 10 years ago. This coming out now probably has something to do with patents expiring. The problem with the Cannondale design was cost. It just wasn't something anyone could afford.

Yes, let’s add hundreds if not thousands to the cost of bikes that fewer and fewer can afford, and that very few can get the most of to begin with.

It works well in the UTV market. Almost every manufacture is doing some sort of live valve or on-the-fly adjustable shock. But when you are spending 20-30k, a grand or two for the option is a bit easier to swallow than adding 10-20% of the cost up front on an MX bike. I think it was Osborne that said he has only made a few changes to his bike since 18'. He said most pros don't learn to ride the bike how it is, they just get stuck on constantly adjusting until it throws the bike off completely.

I was extremely frustrated with my suspension on my '20 450sxf after riding KYB most my life. I took that advice and just looked to adjust the way I ride and play with braking into corners more, etc. Did a couple air pressure adjustments and a few clicks here and there and I'm happy as a clam.

Didnt K2 build a bike around that too? I remember thinking it looked ridiculous.

Looks like one more thing I really don't want to have to fuck with on a mx'er.

I have pondered what will happen when moto bike absorb electronic suspension. Eventually the electronic suspension will be so good that it will be like riding down a flat road. Where is the fun in that???
