ama just doesnt want jlaw out there, he knew he messed up let the field by and then took off, what advantage did he gain? it should be just like if someone goes off the track as long as the rider doesnt gain an advantage its fine

first he dnf 1º moto because of a broken rear break, i guess wouldn't stop anyone else from finishing and scoring some points.....
then he disrespected the pre race parking of the 2º moto on the excuse of testing the breaks that he had broken in the 1º lap of the 1º moto, and for that he ws send to the last place in the grid.......
and then he jumps the gate.........
don't tell me that he is there to race and that he respects the effort that all others put into being there, he is just out of it, and is only out to get as much publicity that he can on being fluke....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i understand that he gets big crowds, but that is for the wrong reasons,that doesnt have anything to do with racing.......
he should take his reality show to mtv or any other kids channel and leave the motocross to who wants to race, he is starting to be a shame for the sport........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you should see if DC needs a new ref for the nationals? With insight like this I'm confident everything would be OK.

Kinda like going off the track in a corner and coming back on, no problem...

I don't know how anyone can say he meant to do it....
If you spend some time practicing gates, you get pretty good at cutting it close enough that as the gate starts to fall your front wheel has to come up and over it as it is still dropping, that is the fast way... If you want to be last you wait for it to fall then go...

His intent I am sure, was to cut a good start but missed timed the count down from the board going sideways...and as soon as he knew he jumped he pulled over and let every bike go. Was there really a need to black flag him? He gained ZERO by jumping and pulling over.

Exactly, because didnt Hill hit the gate next to Reed at one of the supercross rounds and that was an excuse he used for a bad start? Thats fouling up the gate in a sense. I can see them wanting to re-start or dock some posistions from his finish but to be black flagged is total BS. And I think because of who started up front the race didnt get re-started

IMO, he was trying to time it so he hit the gate just as it started to fall. There wasnt even a twitch from that gate and he dumped the clutch and wheelied over it. had it been an accident, he would have hit the gate and either got stuck, stopped or flipped over the bars. rumor has it that jlaw bet a friend 10 grand that he could jump the gate and the guy said i'll give you 20 grand if you can do it clean. that right there is skill that few have..seriously, try jumping that gate without getting stuck or breaking the gate. bet james can't even do it...dude i s amazing on a bike. wow.

There is a distinction between “DQ”ing someone and black-flagging them.

When you black flag someone they cannot finish the race and have an earned result. Mistakes can be made when you black-flag someone who is NOT a hazard on the course. The gate could have malfunctioned or something of that nature.

They could have let Jlaw race out the moto and then then DQ him after the finish after the incedent has been reviewed and a decision made.

And yes he should have been DQed, but not black flagged.
