Sunoco Race Fuels

I know this has been talked about in another thread but if I remember right it ended with that Sunoco used oxygenated fuel and that was a no-no to most. I looked on their website and they do offer a couple fuels that are not oxygenated and ethanol free in the 95 and 98 octane. Anyone had any experience with Sunoco? and is there any throttle response or benefit to gain? Around me I have 91 octane at the pump but it does contain ethanol which I'd like to stay away from.

Honestly I am very uneducated on the subject and really don't know, so I am all ears to learn something.

oxygenated fuels are what make power increases. Higher octane is what is used to fight detonation. If you do some research you can find what fuel is right for your application.

Sunoco”s 260GT and 260GT plus are comparable to VP T4, which is stated to be a good gas for stock or lightly modified 4t engines. Both of those Sunoco fuels have a slight % of ethanol, where the VP T4 has no ethanol and a comparable amount of oxygen to T4. I have been using 260GT In my KTM450SX, I feel it runs better than the 91 non ethanol I have access to at the pump.

I have stock bikes and I run Sunoco 110 it’s non oxygen and non ethanol.. it is leaded tho...
I run it for the pure fact that it’s a consistent burn and it’s non ethanol.

Also I had a old guy at a shop I worked at when I was younger that said 2 strokes and air cooled mx bikes like the leaded fuel..🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ Just always stuck in my brain.. it does give a crispy throttle and makes them run cooler as well..

Lots of my buddies run this 50/50 with 91 ethanol pump gas, with great results

Simple answer is to run the lowest octane you can without detonation. Oxygenated gas will give you more power with a tune.

Cam2 or sunoco 110 worked well for me in the past. I since went back to 93 and a stock tune as i dont need the extra on a 450.

Ive been researching a bit since I want a pump gas replacement but have heard mixed things about T4.

I believe Optima or 260GTX are the closest. Both are non-ethanol, non-oxygenated, unleaded. I think Optima is 95 octane and 260GTX 98 octane. There are se good comparison charts between fuel manufacturers. Google should yield something.

Sunoco 110 here in a couple different 125s. Clean throttle response, lead makes them run cooler, better fuel mileage in my experience, and don’t load up as quickly. Anything is better than pump fuel.

Lucky enough to have 260GT at a pump that is not too far out of my way. I bought some and tried it in my FC350, as well as mixing some for my kid's yz65. Noticeable difference in how clean the 65 burns, I cant comment on difference in the 350 as that's all I have put in it so far.

I ran 260GT plus in a CRF250RX and it cleaned up the throttle response but it made it almost impossible to tell the difference between the maps. It should run leaner than non ethanol fuel but not much worse than pump gas. 260GT has 10% ethanol and the plus has 13%. The cleaner throttle response makes me wonder how much water is in 93 octane, e10 pump fuel.

Sunoco 110 is way cheaper than the 5gallon drums you can buy too.. under $7 here for a fill up your own container. And I store mine in a old vp metal container so I would recommend giving it a try...

$7 at the pump? $9.99 year round here per gallon.

It is about $9 a gallon at the pump here for 110 leaded. 260 plus is about the same price pumped out of a 55g drum.
