Moto gaining fans from NASCAR

This NASCAR statement today is interesting:

President Steve Phelps said NASCAR asked officials at 29 tracks to inspect their garages. In looking at 1,684 garage stalls, they found 11 pull-down ropes that were knotted and one tied into a noose -- the one at the Alabama track in the stall of Wallace, who is Black.

I mean what are the odds this was a coincidence? If it was a coincidence, could it have happened at a worse time?

The weird thing is that a noose tightens around whatever is inside of it. Like GuyB posted, I’ve knotted every garage door rope I’ve ever had, but not with a knot that tightens like a noose.

Why would anyone make a noose that would/should tighten around their fingers if they actually pulled on it? Seems odd.

will the new fans last? who knows, but people love drama, and as they say, any news is good news

who knows, maybe people turn up to boo him,

Yep youre right on that point about drama getting attention. But its butts in the grandstand and eyeballs on the TV, consistently, that pays the bills. If they can sustain things more power to 'em. I think that shit is boring as watching paint dry, but I applaud any business that can make an honest profit and wish them all the best.
I hear ya, I’ve been to a handful of NASCAR races and watched from pit road, never in the stands. I’m talking this is shit that NASCAR fans dream of and I was bored as FUCK! I’ll take a local dirt track race any day of the week, twice on Sunday.

Why Bubba Wallace was assigned stall #4

Based on points standings and COVID-19 protocol = coincidence.

I really wish he would just come out and say this was all a big misunderstanding at a very bad time and there is no conspiracy or racist action. I'm 100% for equality and hate that this happened but let's not make it something it isn't.

Honestly, I don’t follow NASCAR or any of their lower levels. If that’s how garages are assigned then it is terrible timing and an unfortunate coincidence at the worst possible time. Basically, I read an article today on what I shared. I found the comments interesting from the President of NASCAR and worthy of adding to this conversation.

Has Bubba Wallace said anything publicly after the findings? Also, it’s my understanding he never saw it and a team member actually reported it. Is this correct? If so, why is he receiving so much hate?

Some dip shit down south just couldn't leave well enough alone and started selling "bubba ropes" I think the news article said he owned a track or some speed shop . I dislike the media so i won't share news links.

So did people of color only get lynched with a proper noose knot or were there other knots used that we need to be concerned with now and they're "symbology"? I know and use several knots that I learned when I was in in Boy Scouts; even learned how to tie a noose after some of us urged the scout leader (who was ex-Navy and knew a lot of knots) to show us how. I suppose that'll be another black eye for the BSA. I sometimes tie nooses just to see if I still remember how or to show someone how to do it. Does that make me a racist?? I swear I never lynched anyone and I've never been to Talladega. Is rope classified as a lethal weapon? So many questions now.

Thats the only thing I havent tried yet was non-wing stuff, sure would like to try it. No classes like that around my area. Always loose, less stagger and throw 'em in backwards.

We made hangman nooses all the time when I was a kid. Had no idea it had allusions to lynchings, we did it because we saw 'em in spaghetti westerns all the time. 'Hang 'em High' and all that. Truth is there were no black kids at all around me growing up so I had no idea about that stuff. I was the minority and it was all hispanic. All my teachers, scout leaders, principals, everyone was hispanic.

The pit stalls are randomly assigned. There is a pic of that same stall in 2019 with the so called noose. This was a coincidence. It was not a noose anyway. It was a rope tied into a loop at the end so it was easier to grab and pull.

All the arguing of racism aside , I find it amusing the ropes they use in a high dollar Nascar garage have a knot tied at the end . Even the manual release rope on my garage door has a plastic handle at the end of it . Laughing

The knot was close enough to a noose that it caused alarm with track workers and crew members. Wallace didn't even see it until after it was reported but that doesn't stop people from blaming him. If you received the emails and messages he does on a regular basis you would be in a constant state of heightened security too. On to Pocono!!!

I imagine the guy who tied that knot was probably thinking he was making a joke when he did it ,I'm sure he had long forgotten about what he did . The day it surfaced he had to have shit his pants.

We don’t have any of them down here either , they look unreal to watch , was gutted when they were rained out. Hopefully these border closes with the virus go away sooner rather than later

Kyle Larson made a mistake. A stupid mistake while he was goofing around with friends, testing some sound settings. He is now pay the price, but in the end, they will forgive him and he will be back in NASCAR or even Indycar because he's a great race-car driver. Maybe he can also do some community work so he understands why that N-word feels so offensive to black people.

They can’t all be JGR, SHR, Penske or Ganassi. But there’s something that seems off about how strongly you react.

I agree Nascar is pretty boring but the ARCA race at Pocono on right now is pretty good so far.

what do you reckon Kyle could make running the schedule he would be running now. 1 mil a year?? i know its not nascar money,

it would be cool to see Larson go after 200 starts in a year like Bryan Clauson did,

i see nascar is up 8% in ratings since coming back, anyone see the stats on the supercross return?

also, something else happened with this today, but i know the rules about posting about it Wink
