I told my 13 year old that I heard the PS5 was better than the new Xbox Series X. He lectured me for 10 minutes why the Xbox was going to be better and made me watch YouTube videos.

Guess he’s afraid of what I’d buy him for Christmas.

We've had these in the lab at work since the beginning of the year...well, not with all the pretty packaging. Same with the Xbox. The guts of them are essentially the same. Will be interesting to see the market reaction.

The most reasonable price breakdown I've seen is that the disc version will be $499 and the disc-less version will either be $399 or $449. That's reasonable enough given the power it will have under the hood in my opinion, but I'd add another $90-120 to that price tag for an external hard drive.

I guess a Sony Exec said that they're going to have some wild looking limited edition consoles this generation, which sucks because I'm a sucker for a good looking LE console (I just bought he Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X even though I own a regular Xbox One X).

Wonder how the new Xbox will stack up against it. I’ve been Xbox guy since halo.....ps5 looks cool. I like the controller.

They have similar specs, but I think the PS5 will still have the better exclusive.

I think Halo is about all the Xbox has that looks good. I'm not into those types of games, so it has nothing to offer me.

i'm definitely not a PS fan boy as i've had almost every version of both consoles over the years.

i did go PS4 instead of Xbox One for the sole reason the PS has much better exclusives.

i'll definitely be buying a PS5, just hoping for a little bit of backwards compatibility this time

For me it comes down to Forza vs Gran Turismo. If there's license tests on GT, Microsoft will get my money. Petty I know.

It's going to be backwards compatible with most of the PS4 games.

That's one thing the Xbox has that might entice people. The Xbox series X will be backwards compatible for the previous 3 versions.

Personally, I rarely play old games so that's not something that's important to me. If I really want to play old games, I can just plug the old consoles and have at it.

Yeah, those stupid licenses are a drag. I wouldn't be surprised if they have them. That said, there's going to be a career mode so who knows.

Xbox has had the better online experience over the last decade. I assume Sony has closed the gap. Some years ago the entire Sony ecosystem was down for weeks because of hackers.

If one can be had when they come out I will for sure get one. Have really enjoyed my PS4 pro, it was my first sony console.

Had Nintendo, sega, xbox, and xbox 360. After the 360 I didn't do much gaming at all, just waited for Red Dead Redemption 2 for 7 years.

Far Cry 6 Teaser.

Apparently the game is scheduled to come out on February 18th, 2021. It will also be released on PS4.

The villain will be played by Giancarlo Esposito.

A few screenshots from Far Cry 6.

The story takes place on the fictional Caribbean island of Yara which took some elements from Cuba. The protagonist's name is Dani and you'll be able to play the character as male or female. The island will feature its own capital city, urban environments, jungles, coastal towns, and farmland.

Interesting job you have and great insight you've given us.

I have 4 XBox 360's throughout my house and loads of games. I'm very happy playing my old MoH games and MxvsAtv, MXGP etc but my daughters are now pushing for a PS4 which I can't really afford at this point. My plan was to save and get them a PS5 and after reading your post I'm thinking PS4. Possibly a good secondhand unit.

What would you do if I may ask? PS4 or PS5?

The price is the deciding factor for me as we got duties and Tax which push them consoles out of reach for most folks.

The prices for the consoles have finally been revealed.

Standard/Disc Edition: $500 USD / $630 CAD / €500 / $750 AUD

Digital Edition: $400 USD / $500 CAD / €400 / $600 AUD

Release Date: November 12th.

US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea.

Release Date: November 19th.

Will launch elsewhere, including Europe, Middle East, South America, Asia and South Africa.
