After talking about it for a few weeks the Fed started buying corporate bond ETF's today.

It's a real good day for all the wall street types that have been front running the Fed buying up junk bond ETF's knowing the Fed would come in and buy everybody out.

Another death blow for the free markets, another step towards corporate communism.

Actually we're only 2 weeks away from sending the first Americans to the Space station on a SpaceX rocket. Smile

Alameda County: You can't open your factory.
Elon Musk: I do what I want!

Ha ha, I love it. Smile I have no idea how he votes, nor do I care to be honest. Maybe he's like me and doesn't vote, at least I don't plan on voting again. I just can't bring myself to check a box for any of those morons.
If you don't vote you can't b****, just saying.

Oh you're right. I forgot they added that 28th amendment to the constitution.

28 - You can't bitch if you don't vote.

Not sure how I missed ENPH over the last couple of years. I think I'm going to get me some next week.

I sold Abbvie at 92 for a nice profit. Going to buy it back if it drops mid 80s again. I want to take a big gamble on something risky this week but with a big payoff, (don't we all). I think the show billions is getting to me.

Yay oil is coming back....for today.
Prices at the pump have jumped close to 30 cents a gallon around here in the last two weeks as more people are driving again.

The market can remain irrational longer than it can remain solvent.

Are we actually in a recession at this point by definition? I thought it took two consecutive quarters with a GDP loss to be considered a recession.

That said, I don’t see this quarter being up....

Yes, we are technically in a recession at this point.

The FED's now GDP forecast currently sits at -53% for Q2.

I'm sure they'll fudge those numbers 10% or so, then we'll beat the forecast and stocks can have a big rally!

or, it'll be a worse number and then everyone will know that the Fed will print another few trillion and stocks can have a big rally!

Seems like right now would be a good day to sell, because when it really sets in things should be able to be bought at a bargain.

I bought into all the major airlines a few days ago (except my trade to buy American Airlines didn’t go through for some reason Pinch ), so far I’m pretty happy with my choice. Based on the inflation we’re probably going to see here I’d say the market is probably the safest place to be at the moment, you can try to time a drop all you want but if you miss the big jump you’re going to be paying for it dearly down the road. The market will factor inflation into its prices, a savings account won’t.

Bought 332 shares of American at $8. It was a good day and I surfed for the first time in years with my daughter all morning behind our beach rental and caught some dreamers. Good times.

What does everyone use for a stock watching & analyzing app/website?

I set up an investing/trading account at my bank 7 years ago and never used it. See it sitting there with a zero balance every time I log onto my online banking. Think it's time to start dabbling. Evil

(Keep those hot tips coming Wink )

With all the inflation the fed is creating right now buying stocks to beat inflation is like jumping off the Titanic as it sinks. You'll live a little longer but the end result is the same.

The fed will have to raise interest rates to fight the inflation, but we already know they have no stomach for that, so they'll have to buy more and more public and private bonds to keep rates suppressed which will then increase inflation and around and around we go.

Inflation is going to shred this economy and society.

I was thinking the same thing.... but for now I guess I will make "more money" on my California properties when I move. Oh well. Easy come, easy go.

Yep, the general public may not really understand this but it's not like they (the fed) doesn't understand. Makes me wonder if perhaps we are being pushed out of fiat towards centralized or decentralized crypto?

Perhaps the ship that comes sailing in to save all the life boats and jumpers?

It's hard to know what is exactly coming down the pike, but it seems like there's growing chatter about some scary possiblities:

UBI
cashless
negative interest rates

Basically the central banks are sealing off all the exits in their closed financial system. It seems like they want everybody in equities at the moment. Guess we'll see what they have in store.

I have owned this too long. Went from $ 4-32 back to $.80 if I was brave I would have bought more 2 months ago when they filed for bankruptcy protection.
