Last year I got a Decoy Pro Race and a Capra LTD for the same price as what a S-Works Turbo Levo would have cost.

We just had quite a large store/chain down here pick them up as distributors. I think it will help their Decoy sales for sure, just having an interface for warranty issues.
I find it quite hard to swap between bike layouts and get comfy quickly so it's something to consider for sure, and the Decoy looks super nice.
This is my only MTB, so I like keeping the dropper on it. I don’t use it often, but some of the trails I like to ride are so steep and technical and I like being able to move around a bit more.
It’s funny you talk about upgrading to AXS, as I was just pricing out the upgrade kit. I can get the kit for around $500, think it’s worth it? My roadie has Di2 and I really do like the electronic shifting, but it isn’t mandatory.
I’m curious what the 2021 Epic is going to look like. I’ve heard no more Brain possibly? I really like the Brain and my bike overall, so I’ll probably hang onto this one for another season or two.
Is the upgrade worth it? mmm, maybe, I mean electronic shifting is nice as hell! always precise, but again the cable xx1 is also awesome. It kind of depends on how much 500 quids are worth to you. I heard some people not really liking the tactile feel of the AXS shifter but to be honest I adapted right off the bat. One thing to be mindful though, is that sometimes, because there's no cable feedback, it's easy to grab a handful of gears and put a lot of load on the drivetrain. I had one of those pretty Sram rainbow chains with only 3 rides on it, and snapped it during a race. I've only broken another chain before and it was an 11sp xx1, so maybe Sram ones are delicate. Replaced it with KMC and haven't had any issue since.
And yeah my guess is that there will probably be no brain, I think a lot of people don't like it. I don't have a problem with it either, just maybe the shock is a little clunky at low speeds, but overall the bike is awesome. I work part time at trek/spec shop so I'm also considering that new supercaliber, I'll have to wait for some reviews.

Where would you even start with MTB brands? I can't keep up.
Check some models out at a brick and mortar store, then compare their geo online. Proper fitment can be more important than component spec.
Some new trends are longer reach numbers, steeper seat tube angles, and more slack head angles on short travel bikes.
Lots of shops rent out bikes too, so you can see what works for you.
