"Kris Keefer reported on the Pulp MX show that Suzuki has fired the people from the Research & Development department in America. With this, the brand from Hamamatsu has dissolved its R&D department in the USA.

It means the manufacturer continued on the path already taken in other areas. The manufacturer also saved on their AMA Superbike program, which was run for years by the Yoshimura R&D department, and will now be run by “Team Hammer”. This is because the latter team can do this cheaper than the Yoshimura R&D team.

Unfortunately, the same story is said to be coming soon for the Joe Gibbs Racing team, which would be replaced as the official Suzuki team by the HEP team after this season."

Bummer for J-Bone & company...especially after the effort they’ve put in, even if that effort has not paid off anywhere like they would have hoped it might.

This is the translation of the mxmag.be article. But both websites are partners. The Dutch one is written by myself.

Rumors are going that JGR and TLD could be melted to one. But that is a old rumor.

Sounds like an opportunity to not have the absolute worst stock bikes to develop, for once.

Troy Lee Designs Joe Gibbs Racing Gas Gas. That would be interesting and is a bit of a mouthful.

Its a shame some of the smaller manufacturers couldn't get in on this. Wasn't it Max Nagl in the GPs who was riding for TM last year? Sherco and Beta do good work in enduro but I dont think either of them has an MX bike

I've heard that Troy wants to take a step back but also wants to keep TLD still relevant. This could be possible if Joe Gibbs Racing runs the 250 KTM program and when those riders wear TLD.

We also can't forget that the race team was originally created for himself, Ward and McGrath to race Supermoto. That all kept growing and growing and growing. You are going with the flow and at a certain point you are at the highest reachable level "KTM Factory team" and then you start to wonder if this is what you always wanted... Because the whole playing field is changed: Winning one race as satellite/private team is amazing, winning one race as factory team is a disgrace.

Not saying this is the reason and not saying it will all play out this way. I'm just telling a story that could happen because I've seen it before.

No offfence to the HEP guys but if all this is remotely possible I’d be talking to Brookes at BARX Suzuki first.

KTM’s net income is less than 10% of Suzuki’s.

i will be very surprised if the ktm group wants to have anything to do with this !!!!!

A red version of orange or a pure red?
I would guess a red version of orange (gas gas). I doubt they will go for the pure red honda but who knows because this new '21 honda should be amazing.

Imagine if Tomac had a satellite team of green guys that made it easier for him to pass and harder for the other teams. k
