I think from memory I was told it was taken at Calder park raceway in Melbourne Australia.

Kind words!

Didn't want to post any family names. Curious if this post is from the Bobby M who used to ride a Maico along with his brother back in the early 70's? If yes, greetings and good health from an old friend "Cosmo."

Joel is the rider that got me wanting to learn MX. My first real MX bike was a 73 Suzuki TM250. I put white fenders on it and green number plates so I could look like Joel. Here is a shot of me in 74.

I was able to get his autograph on an old photo when he came here back 15 years or so ago for the Edison Dye Award at Glen Helen. I never thought I would get to meet him. He seemed very appreciative of the support that day.

I have four autographs on 8 x 10 photos that I cherish of my hero's Torsten Hallman, Joel Robert, Roger DeCoster and Brad Lackey. Growing up and reading about these legends, I never thought I would get to meet them some day.

To this day, I run 15 on my race bikes. I have ever since I saw Joel at the St. Peters Trans AMA on that #15 RN370 and immediately put a 15 plate on my SL125!

I met him a few years ago at Red Bud and had him autograph a poster of his RH72 (the bike Terry Good has in his collection). Super nice and humble. I wonder if he even knows how many American teenaged MXers saw him as their idol.

I am not usually a fan of seeing 4-5 year old threads being dug up but I have to give this one 👍👍.
