Amazing how people want things in the future written in stone when everything is changing from minute to minute today.

Here's a bit of the latest I've heard. Peeking behind the curtain, some of the best of what I see right now is a cooperative effort between the SX and MX camps.

On the MX side? The plan is for an 11-race series to start in mid-June in Florida, and wrap up on Labor Day weekend at Pala.

SX's plans? That'll be hashed out with Feld and the teams soon.

This sucks. I was shooting for the stars this year planning to go to 1 race of each series: SX, MX and GPs. Regardless if they race again this year I'm done, my the currency here is devaluating fast.

Let's keep fingers crossed to get this behind. Guess I will be riding more with no races on TV.

Ride but ride safe. Last thing any ER wants to see is a dirt biker roll in and have to deal with that shit. We might get slapped and told to wait outside while being called idiots. LOL

I think, what some forget, that at these outdoor national venues, there’s much preparation for weeks, perhaps months, in advance - and so it’s not so simple as everything being okay and “hey, let’s put on a National next week!” So many things to line up, from the medics to vendors to portapotties, etc. Working parties, track work, infrastructure maintenance.....On a side note, how many thousands or millions of weddings, graduations, etc. are being postponed or cancelled? Weird times fo sho.

My life has been a little black cloud for the past three years. Social distancing around me is highly recommended.

First Round moved to the New Lake Elsinore Track for their Grand Opening. Could be another rumor. Lol

FYI, I spent the day at the track with my kids. We had a great time and my daughter rode her new(new to her) Cobra 50 for the first time on a real track. No one coughed, talked about a virus, or mentioned video games, just "Can I go back out and ride some more?" and "Do we have to go home now?"

I sure hope the tracks can at least stay open for practice days...

It seems like now would not be a good time to have to go to a hospital for any type of injury related to any voluntary activity.

Make sure to cancel the auto-renew feature on NBC Sport Gold if you subscribed last year as it is enabled by default. Just cancelled mine.

Pennies will start to count again shortly if we are going to lockdown the entire global economy. At least they will have value for a while until we bail out every politically connected bank, business, insurance company, hedge fund, local government and pension fund and counterfit the currency into confetti.

I’m on the fence about all of this..

As a society I think it’s all a mess. One little change when something isn’t at our fingertips and there is mass panic. We are way to comfortable for our own good.

We’d like to think we are apart of some big history moment but we won’t be. Humans move on and easily forget. Did anyone remember hearing much about the Spanish Flu (1918-1920)? Nope. How fitting though the last pandemic an almost exact 100 years apart. Estimations from different authors report 17.4-50 million deaths. Around 1% to 2.5% the world population back then. It wasn’t a cornavirus but a influenza. It affected young people. And was the last time the population of the earth was declining.

What happened after that? The Roaring 20’s, then the Great Depression.

We have a much better chance then they ever did with how we are set up now. So please people! Do not go visit your grandma! And don’t let the news networks ruin your life!

I got shit from people on here for being a little black raincloud but my wife works for a crucial government agency and although they have been vague she has been on conference calls with the CDC multiple times over the last month, so I've had a pretty good idea how serious they were taking this. Anything anyone says about things getting back to normal in the near future is just wishful thinking because I don't think anyone knows what is going to happen. Looking this morning the number of cases are going up and the US death toll is rising but they said that in the early weeks it would go up dramatically so the next few days if it starts doubling and tripling daily be very affraid. So far that hasn't happened, yet. Despite maybe a few poorly exicuted press conferences trying not to freak people out the federal government has taken this very seriously since the first travel ban from China was put in place. I hope this is all a huge overreaction and the racing gets back to normal this summer and that may be possible but it wasn't going to happen the way it was going. I don't trust our governor in California one bit but I'm going to give him a pass on this until he overplays his hand. If he does who knows what's going to happen.

The parks were already closed at that point, weren't they?

FYI...I cleaned up a lot of stuff that was rumor, speculation and/or unrelated to the thread. I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot more of that.

If you want to talk about the virus and how it affects your daily life? Non-Moto sounds like a good place for that.

Let's try and stay on topic in here. Smile
