It's not like this is mass produced...Support the companies that support the sport.

I would buy one if it would fit one of my bikes.

I don't even own a Yamaha, but I did what you said like a mindless drone and supported companies that support the sport. Pffft! Dude... do you know what a free market is?? If nobody buys it, maybe they will rethink the price or get rid of carrying it in their product line. Consumer buying trends are what determine products are being produced and sold.

CRM carbon has a similar product but the availability seems to be low. And there is no picture on their website of it.

There is no reason on earth (other than looks/bling factor) anyone should buy one for their 450. Thing is scary fast stock.

But it's only a regular cover made out of carbon, no performance increase with more air to the air box.

As far as increased power goes this stuff is all eye candy and has very little to do with improving performance!
But without a doubt looks awesome!’

This is the Nihilo cover we run. Yamahas have very restricted air flow, with little overall air volume to pull from inside the box. These covers accomplish both, more volume and flow.

You will feel a difference even on a stock bike with stock Intake systems just throwing this on. We found this cover to give best results on the dyno compared to other covers and hand drilled covers. It’s not for looks.

This may not look as bad ass but four 3/4 holes and $5 for screen and you can hear it sucking air when you are on the throttle

When I moved to elevation in Denver, I was shocked at how much power my bikes lost. Not shocked in that I don't understand the physics (~ 3% power loss per 1000 feet of elevation), but shocked like ... "daaaang, how can I ever get back to OEM power at sea level?!"

So ... products like this are absolutely up my alley! Every little bit helps.

Cycra makes one that has more volume, but has no holes. It also give clearance for the Twin Air or No Toil filter Power Flow kits.

Well here is the list i have for the after market airbox cover:

- Cycra (plastic, more volume, no holes, used by Star racing and Yamaha factory in europe) - 40$ ;
- CRM Compositi (Carbon, more volume, big holes, used by Yamaha Serco Australia) 200$ ;
- Nihilo (Carbon, more volume, big holes but covered, used by ClubMX) 299$ ;
- VHM (Carbon, more volume (biggest available i think), but small holes) 280$;
- Slater Skins (plastic, more volume, big holes but covered and i think best bang for the money) 80$.

On my side, i bought the Nihilo airbox (really nice piece of carbon and seems well made) but i havn't been able to try it yet.
