I just read Ping’s comment on the Dungey/Geico breakup...he said the “truth” might not come out for awhile, and that because RD had ties to the Geico team owners, Ryan wouldn’t reveal any “dirt” on them, and neither would Geico on Dungey.

I know what Ryan said when he left the team so abruptly...but Ping’s statement kinda hints that there might be more to it than just Ryan’s decision to spend more time with family.

Thoughts?
Why do so many of you believe everything you're told when things like this happen? I assume that it's bullshit when I hear it - e.g., "..to spend more time with family." There's always more to the story. Don't take everything at face value.

My outside interpretation is that Dungey got in with Craig's father in-law because they are all Minnesota folk. However, once they got deeper into the team's relationship - I'm assuming the politics didn't help the situation and that's why there was a separation.

Matthes talked alot about this on his own Podcast and even had a separate discussion pod with Paul. Steve basically said it was amicable and everything was good. Maybe some miscommunication about Ryan's actual role, but hard no foul. I didn't get any "read between the lines" impression here.

The deleting of any and all Geico Honda related pictures is the biggest thing that makes this whole thing weird. That suggests a break up beyond just wanting to spend more time with family. If he just comes out, says that he is stepping away and goes on with his life..there arent nearly as many questions.

Yes, I'm sure Jeff (one of the owners of the team, close fried to Ryan, and very successful business man) wasn't upfront with Ryan when asking for him to invest, and falsified the numbers to project higher profits.
