Season's over. Like it or not, SX races for 2020 are done. There were 7 races left and 2 are officially cancelled, with several more venues to follow suit it appears. Who, or if they crown a champion, is the only thing really to look forward to.

He might lose out on a bonus but Yamaha is not going to decide Justin's future with the team based on 3 points.

I would think so as well. Indy could’ve been a huge round if they went into it saying “this may be the last race” and ran it without fans. There could’ve been some fireworks on the track everywhere with so much on the line.

In other threads lots of people are saying Vegas is planning on allowing multiple races with no fan attendance. We'll see if that sticks.

But to answer your question, one would think they’d put in an effort to get Dylan. What if AP7 continued to turn it on and had consistent finishes ahead of Barcia? Things happen.

Yamaha would be a big loser if they would not resign him if it’s for that spot or few points.

He is the only guy since a while who made that YZF450 look good in Supercross and still got a shot at the title.

They better would have re sign Barcia and sign Ferrandis or Mcelrath instead of Plessinger again.

On the other side, Barcia got a great season and will land on a good spot somewhere. I don’t see him as a loser more a big loss for Yamaha if it happens.

I doubt the season is over, but Barcia will be on Factory equipment next year. There are only two guys consistently better them him this year so far.
