Top job Rob.
My thoughts too.. too many books are all text and a big wodge of pictures in the middle.. makes it cheaper , but far less readable.

It’s been dropped off at the courier Jay. I’ve had a lot of emails bouncing back as undeliverable. It could be that spam filters on the customer’s end are blocking them? Anyway, your order is on it’s way sir.

Firstly, congratulations Rob: your book is EPIC.

Secondly, thank-you for taking the time to share not only your story, but for sourcing some of the best images of GP motocross from the 1980s. I thought I'd consumed - actually, devoured is a more accurate description - all the content from 'back then', but the archive of material you've sifted and assembled from some of the sport's finest photographers is a real treat.

Thirdly, if you're contemplating purchasing this book then do NOT hesitate to pull the trigger as you will NOT be disappointed. If you're a fan of the sport, regardless of your age, location and favorite series/rider/era etc., this book is essential reading. Just a personal opinion, but it's reminiscent of AXO's 'Inside Motocross' magazine published in the early 1990s, with high quality writing augmented by images of similar quality. Attention to detail matters. Rob's book knocks it out of the park. It's worth every penny of the purchase price.

Rob thanks so much for putting this book out. I was lucky to be stationed in Germany in 85/86 time frame. I was able to go to Namur both years and the final in Luxembourg in 86. Best MX memories of my life. I'm so glad I got to see the best period in 500 GP MX. Your book brought back many memories. Thanks for the personal note and signature also. That was a very nice touch. He are a couple shots I took in Namur in 85.

The mighty Honda RC500 of Dave Thorpe.

Andre Malherbe and Danny "Magoo" Chandler at Namur in 85.

Here is Andre getting ready for practice at Namur in 85.
Dave Thorpe in Luxembourg 86.

I have a bunch more but for whatever reason I can't get them to upload.

My late father Ron was a great photographer, and he left me with some absolutely fantastic images from my schoolboy days. It was a real thrill to be able to sift through so many great photos, and some of the colour shots look like they were taken only yesterday. It was an honour to be able to include some in my book. I'm sure he'd have been thrilled.

Here's one of my favourites. I have no idea of the track, but the year is 1979, and I'm in the silver helmet in the centre, with the handmade #18 sticker on my helmet!

And how about that Speedway-style slanted elastic start gate?!

I haven't read the book yet but will soon, that picture shows schoolboy mx in Britain in its heyday 1979, a few short years later in 82 I did a train with Wade MX School at Hawkstone Park,& Rob Andrews was his protégé showing us how to pin it through the whoops etc, he was on a Stormer MX sponsored 480 Honda then, ( remember that Rob)

There was another young lad on a KX 80 Darren Nodding's he was pretty good too, loved those times & Brian Wade was Ace, thanks Rob for the lessons they paid off later.

Thanks for all the kind words.

I have received lots of great 5-star reviews of the Inside Line book on Trustpilot. Each and every one is heartwarming. However, this one was posted this week and I thought I’d share it. I find it incredibly rewarding that someone has taken the time to write such nice things about my work.

When I wrote The Inside Line I really tried my hardest to make it the very best motocross book that I possibly could. When a reader posts such a complimentary review it’s nice to know that my efforts were all worthwhile.

If you want to view my other Trustpilot reviews you can see them here: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/robandrewsmx.com
