I like them they just don't last as long as Dunlop. This is the newer compound supposed to last longer so we'll see. They're 2-3 pounds lighter then Dunlop though. Made in USA so I'll buy them.

What spring rates did you guys end up with if you don’t mind me asking. I’m 230-235 currently, decent Vet Int/ sometimes expert if I’m feeling racey for a couple laps and was thinking about going .53 in front with 6.0 in the back... but maybe .52 will be fine. I am getting a 20 KX450 in the next couple weeks but wanted to start ordering parts now and will send out for valving after the suspension breaks in!

Thanks

for sure get .53's up front. The 6.0 in rear sounds about right. I am 205 and have .53's and a 5.7 rear. I also went up to 345cc in forks. These forks are very soft stock

Awesome thank you!

Usually the RT spring rate calculator is a little on the stiff side so I have been surprised it has me at .52 at 235... I might go .54 and 6.2 in the rear if the 6.0 I have is to soft... Or maybe I should just finally loose the weight the doctor said I need to loose 🤷‍♂️

I finally gave in yesterday and bought a new leftover 2019 to start riding again after 6 years. I hope i enjoy the new bike and get it set up to my likings. are there things I should do from the get go or are there any issues I could help prevent by doing things upfront? I paid 6500€ for it for those who are interested.

Welcome to the club!!

#1. Grease your bearings, many of us have found them to be nearly dry!

#2. Beef up the muffler hanger bracket on the sub frame.

#3. Remove the judder spring set up and throw a stock fiber in it’s place.

#4. Swap to a 2018 rear caliper bracket and a 240mm rotor.

#5. Add fuel and enjoy!!

Also...

-add some oil to the air filter

-if you have a local fab shop who can brace the radiators do it

-break it in for about 30-45 minutes the change the oil and oil filter before you really go hard on it.

I planned on purchasing Twin air or DT1 filter kit before I took her out on a spin. which is going to be at the end of march probably because I leave for Egypt in just a week so being it 6 years ago I don't want to go on a trip with broken bones :D I've managed to keep away from a bike for 6 years I can handle 1-month extra:D. and I assume I won't be going hard on it either my fitness level is going to be way off and my techniques probably as well so I'm planning on taking it slow for the first few hours.

to answer both reply's
* grease: ready to go so thanks for the input and will do for sure.
* beef up the muffler hanger: any tips on how-to or a picture of what needs to be done?
*Judder spring? I honestly don't know what that is might be lost in translation so a picture would be great.
* Rear brake caliper: is there a particular reason why it should be changed?
* Radiator braces: no local Fab shop unfortunately but are there braces I could buy from WC or a other brand or something?

thank you so much for the advice and tips.
almost time to order shiny parts so I can start the build process :D

120 pages divided by 30 days= 4 pages a day....you have time to catch up! ...all kidding aside, items are a personal preference. I have the WC radiator brace and it’s fine for me. The rear brake can be sensitive and easily lockup causing engine stall in some corners..reducing the rotor and pad size helps but I had to learn to adjust. I put in a Rekluse Clutch Pack in which I am enjoying. I’d recommend going through the 120 pages to get informed and hear discussions that may benefit you in making decisions. Welcome aboard!

As far as the judder spring and rear brake goes you don’t need to change it out, just ride it. To beef up the exhaust bracket you will need a local welder to weld it up. You can look at the first 5-10 pages and you should see what it looks like to beef one up. And you can get braces from WC, use the pulpmx code for a discount.

Last weekend I took a bench grinder to the rear pads and knocked 3 of the 4 sides down to a 45, also put a slit in the middle with a bandsaw. Really helped the rear brake feel.

Replaced my rear disc, new pad shave some off the brake push rod and my back still drags , any idea's.

www.cghimports.com

Is the company.
Just grease the bike and oil the airfilter and ride👍 chain could be good to change for an o-ring.

Alot of magazines complain about the rear brake but personally i like it, its 10 mm larger still use the same brakepads so how much does it really affect? I cant say that i noticed much different compared to my old 16. I have 60 hours on mine and no subframe failure or any other failure, the bike runs and holds up great.

Here's one on eBay that ships to Belgium.

I actually have a set I've never installed that I debated offering to sell/ship to you if you were really stuck, but there's already this one here, possibly more. Good luck!

Hey central, where did you get the bolt's/washers as seen in the next to last pic (number plate and sub frame) if you don't mind ? Very good look'n bike btw.

Thanks always fun to build a new bike.
A bit of a mix for the bolts.
Race tech titanium for most.
I also used a seller from England for my rotor bolts, shock bolts, and Foot peg bolts.
Used another for green tint titanium banjo bolts.

Had a blast racing for the first time in over a year on it.
Glen Helen with the OTHG in just about a month.

Yeah I’m on a downward trend right now... just weighed in at the gym at 230 so down 5 pounds with a goal of 200!

I think I’m doing the .52s and I have a 6.0 that will work from my 16, I had the spring conversion on the 16 and a 1.05 spring with the 6.0 on back. I could bottom the forks but that was the SFF with conversion so not sure if that’s a good example to base the new design on.

Ok who here has the arc powerlever. I can’t run the softer chip settings without the clutch being partially engaged when it’s against my fingers. Will removing the judder spring and adding a regular plate move the bite point out a little bit? Has anyone run the arc piston in their clutch master cylinder. The guy from arc said it moves more fluid sooner which should get the bite point out where I want it but I’d like some first hand experience.
