Used 250F or 125

With a 2k budget what would you guys recommend for? I like the idea of a YZ but theres so many at different prices. Any help would be much appreciated.

125 gets my vote
A lot of $2k four strokes are outdated and/or clapped out
You can find a fairy modern RMZ250 for maybe $2500 tho

I’d buy a $1000 125 and save the other $1000 to rebuild it. Seems the$1500-$2000 range has a new top end ready to grenade.

RMZ 250 2014 to 2016 seem to be well priced. Any particular reasons? Post 2004 YZ smoker is up there

125. I picked up a 04 125 for my son for $1600 with a new cylinder. I myself set a budget for 2K. Used the balance on other bolt on items.

Anyway have fun and do what you prefer and maybe take what you feel the most confortable on if you have the possibility to try each.

Follow the adds almost every hours if you want the best deal, and for £2k (which often means advertised at 2.3k to 2.5k), you still have some choice, but if you are looking in this price range due to budget, then the 125 will always be easier to maintain.

A 125 is not perfect either, you may be a tad slower but you will probably have more fun. You will also increase your skills much more quickly because it is a bit more violent and needs more technique. There may be some costly bills sometimes too if you don't learn how to maintain it and/or if you don't have quality tools to maintain it, but that will always costs less compared to a grenaded 250F.

By the way, are you far from France ? If you are in the south east of england, this may be worth watching it :

This every day

And there are 4 bikes that are owned by real MXers, not perfect but one is from 2013!

Good luck and always ride with the complete gear (helmet, boots, chest protector, etc etc) !

I think it’s mainly because Suzuki went a long time without updating the RMZ, and for that reason the bikes are less desirable on the resell market

They aren’t bad tho, and you can find really good deals
