I think we need this information before we can consider what you post as credible.
Thanks
Same with this guy, and nearly everyone else in similar shoes.
IMHO this was not a racing incident, but a failed attempt at a terribly judged block pass. I think the main reason everyone is so worked up is that everyone could see it wouldnt work, except for Ferrandis.
But totally, if someone has a wheel on you (even if its by a few inches and the other rider doesnt see you making a b-line for the exit of the corner until youre pretty much under him) then youre supposed to let off guys! Cmon! Its just simple motocross etiquette
It’s just a racing incident.
Can you really say he's infront when:
1. He's pretty much going 75 degrees in the wrong direction
2. He came in with way to much speed for him to control and therefore lost control and probably would have gone down anyway.
This was all on Ferrandis, sorry. He was not infront of Craig. The hate he has gotten is way out of proportion though.
Pit Row
First of all, in the case of this past weekend, there is no way Craig was going to know that DF was going to completely skip the corner. DF landed off the FL jump and was pointed STRAIGHT at the mechanics area where he then used Craig as a berm. As DF is a vet and a lites champion, I’m guessing Craig thought he would ride as such. And being that DF was about 5-6 bike lengths behind Craig going over the FL jump, he probably didn’t feel the need to take the inside line. He had a big enough gap. No one would predict DF to completely skip the corner and use Craig and the tough blocks as a berm.
THEN, not learning his lesson, he did the EXACT same thing to Jett on the face of a triple. Had he got there a split second sooner, Jett would have been ejected from his bike 20 feet in the air. It was just pure shit riding from DF whose supposed to be a vet and champion. He rode like a desperate out of control rookie.
As far as Etiquette goes, there are a few riders who need classes in it. Light contact I get. Purposely putting riders on the ground or over berms is just completely a dick move. No need for it.
And others in the 90's
And the difference is the speed.
Go back and watch some of those old races. It's a whole different ball game now.
But personally I think they got it right. As in I agree with the probation.
This is the sport. Love it or leave it.
