One unspoken thing RC does is react when he sees something. You can hear him go "ooohhhhh" when someone about goes ass over tea kettle or a rider almost slides out in a corner and then the broadcast just moves on. I miss what he is reacting too about 50% of the time and have to back up to see it. He did it in St. Louis when one of the 450 guys got bucked and about went over the bars. Went back and sure enough, can't remember who it was, almost endo'd over a double.
Anyways, enough has been said about RC in the booth but this is something I've picked up on throughout the years that he does. They don't always go back and cover what he was reacting to. For those of us that actually ride it's fun to go back and catch the minor things.

It's easy to be critical of the commentators and even the broadcast. IMO, the broadcast has improved significantly over the years. We used to miss a lot of action because there was a lack of screen in screen action and they gave us that. There have been a lot of improvements. They're usually just slower than we all want.
I do wish they'd keep you on the action with a screen in screen even at the end of the race. Show Roczen going over the finish line and celebrating with his wife while having the rest of the race on the other screen. The coverage does cut away from a really good battle for 3rd 4th and 5th very often to show the winner going over the finish line somewhat anticlimactically and that's right when the passes happen behind the leader.

Next up, JS7. Ha. Although it appears JS7 has not thrown a leg over the bike at all post retirement. Haven't seen everything from him but also haven't seen him on the bike.
After Anaheim 1 I realized there was nothing in the broadcast that really stuck out in my mind, whereas this past year I could only remember a ton of cringe-worthy moments. So, it was good in that sense, but I really couldn't remember anything positive that was outstanding either. I'll take it.
For St Louis I paid more attention and it just seemed to me that RC is more comfortable and giving a lot more insight into what's going on during a race. Good on him. It's what we want to hear!
I'm truly hoping it doesn't all go to hell once Ralph returns.
And yes, you gotta listen for a big crowd reaction to know when the passes happen.... It's like they have given up on trying to catch any of the important passes
I thought he did an okay job, but he did seem to argue a bit with RC in the booth quite a bit towards the end, even if it did seem to be in jest.
Was there a falling out or did he move on of his won accord?

i just cant take it Jesus!
EDIT: It will be interesting to see when Ralph returns at Glendale, if he's any different? There's a chance he might actually see some feedback on his absence, take note on how the broadcast currently is functioning, and make some changes to his style. Having said that, I think Ralph is gonna Ralph, just like Marty is gonna Marty and Dean's Dean.
