All I know is these guys are BAD dudes.
I would never (due to both lack of balls and ability) hold a bike wide open through terrain like that. And for hours at a time.
I wouldn’t do it for all the tea in China.
I just started listening to the Brabec episode of the Whisky Throttle Show, and he seems like a cool guy too. I am pulling for Price, Shorty and Brabec this year. The mental toughness to battle it out day after day is wild.

Rear wheel issues for price caused him to fall 25mins behind. Going go be tough trying gain that time back with how brabec is riding.
I think the days the road book is passed out right before the start play in Brabecs favor. He's also in a perfect spot now to concede some time on days he has to do the navigation and then gain it back the next day when he starts farther back.
Ricky has some solid back up now too since Benavides lost 3+ hours today. Having "assistance" from his team has been an issue in the past, I don't see that being a problem now.
Pit Row
To your point about leading out, it's pretty tough for any of these guys to open the course, and the one day that it's really an advantage is the day prior to the mass start, where the previous day's winner can key off of everyone. It's probably pretty tough to know whether your pace is winning or not - Brabec mentioned before Stage 6 that he was riding pretty conservative, so I'm guessing Price having tire trouble and Shorty stopping to help (not to mention Kevin Benavidas' bike failure) kind of handed him a stage win that he really didn't want.
Hoping for a solid second-half, and fingers crossed for that Honda 450 Rally to hold up!!! A lot can happen in a single stage....
"What's for dinner Nacho? I don't know Ricky, some meat stuff?"
KTM owns Husky. Shorty was out of the Overall Points totals. So he gave his "teammate" his rear tire. In the end the checks are all written by KTM and they need this 18 yr streak to continue.
Andrew is not a title contender and not employed as one.
KTM and Husky are the same team.
In previous years on marathon stages (no team assitance) honda have robbed parts off a regular joe blows bike to keep their factory bikes going. The regular joe is unable to finish the race, but guareenteed free entry and a ton more support for their next dakar.
I'm not saying your wrong, just curious.
