Picked up my kids Christmas present today.
2020 Husky EE 5. I'll take pictures tomorrow when he's in school. Any questions ask away. $5400 out the door. If it's as reliable as my Alta we will be very happy. Looking forward to just adjusting/lubing chains and checking air pressures. 110 volts from the wall at home instead of 110 octane from the next town over. No more air filters!

The dealer agreed to sell me an extra battery at cost. Idk what that price is yet, but retail is about $850.

I agree it seems steep, but I would like to see a 3yr cost analysis compared to an ICE 50. No fuel, no oil, no air filters, no spark plugs, no clutches, no aftermarket exhausts... The total cost may be closer than we think.

I fully plan on running multiple kids on this bike with the adjustable ergonomics and power settings. There's a lack of maintenance items, and my time is worth money.

This kid has been riding since 22 months. This is the first bike that I have paid more than $500 for.
We went PW, CRF 50, lowered KX65 with a Rekluse.
Now this E mini. He's 5.
We'll probably see some of you at Switchback, or Ram Jam indoors this winter.

This is a VERY Cool Dad moment! Stoked for you and your little dude!
Btw, that’s one of the hardest bikes to get ANY kind of deal on.

Yes. Most dealers were sold out a couple months ago. I was told Husky is only importing 120 of these. I paid retail $5150, and it was $5434 out the door. They are so rare that I doubt anyone pays less than retail.
Most dealers won't have these unless the sent a mechanic to a class on them. We wanted an orange one with a $100 lower msrp but couldn't get one close enough. They were spoken for 2 months ago.

Congrats to you and your kids! Surely, it will be a Christmas to remember for your family. Have you taken a test run on it yet? I'm very curious as to whether these bikes will be a viable replacement for my backyard crf110

I haven't actually ridden it yet, but I think a Sur-Ron would be better and cheaper. I've heard they are on a close level to a 110. Doing some throttle blips in the garage I think it's between a 50 and 65, but with more torque thanks to the electric power plant.

Those are both two beautiful little huskies, my eyes are set on getting one of the two. I hope you two can give some updates (deja new and mike265) on the progress and upkeep of these bikes. Within the next six months i'll be shopping, i just updated the pw with a taller seat, handlebar risers and footpegs in hopes of getting a little more time out of the pw. Keep us updated on ride times and maintenance etc. Thanks

I thought going to a CRF 50 was a good step up from the PW, but an e mini with the adjustable power and ergonomics is hopefully worth it. I noticed at the tight indoor tracks the fast 50s tend to hit abruptly in turns and whoops. The electric bike should be as smooth as the riders throttle hand.

Oh man, you'd like to think the quiet nature of that would be more confidence inspiring to the kid.

Are these any fun as an adult? I feel like you could hit the local skate park and have some fun on that. Grinning

We did have a cheap Razor electric dirt bike, and it was more confidence inspiring for my nephew. That was actually the 1st bike with no training wheels that they rode. I'm 230 lbs so it's no good for me, but if you're a small dude closer to 150 lbs it may work ok. I still think a Sur-Ron would be a better pitbike. When a 65cc equivalent is released then it may have enough power for an adult.

Most of the snow melted today. It was slick. The 5 year old test rider has had a PW50, XR50, chinese 110, and a lowered KX65 with a Rekluse auto clutch. He said this EE5 Husky is his favorite bike so far!
Map 1 is definitely ok for a first time rider. Slow and gutless.
Map 2 is a reasonable step up.
Map 3 of 6 is where we ended the day. Plenty of tractable power for a 50 lb kid with experience.

Only rode the bike twice this winter, so not much to report yet. We did meet a fast kid with the KTM. Sounds to me like fast kids have issues with battery life. The kid and I both agree that our electric bikes are our favorites, but I wouldn't buy electric unless you can afford to have gas bikes too.

Video from today. Bike still in map 3 of 6. He did ride the KX65 for a few laps, and then used map 4 for 2 laps before going back to map 3. The dirt was perfect today. I am hoping for an extra capacity battery to become available. Once he gets to map 6 I don't think the capacity is going to be enough.
