For me it’s the guy that’s riding way over his head, can barely make it through the corners but still tries to send the 100ft table, front end high and completely out of control. If I’m getting nervous watching you ride, you’re a goon!
If you’re just a mid pack over 40 C rider doing laps within your limits, not a goon!

For me it's a rider with brand new shirt and pants kit and really cheap ass old helmet and boots. And of course the Rockstar logo on his clapped out 450 suzuki 2008. Tires need to be totally toasted from the burnouts on the streets also.

AND of course a huge rev as soon as this yellow bitch start up

1. Running your visor real low
2. Running your visor too high
3. My nephews have a signature move, they keep their goggles on their helmet (with low visor) and take the helmet on and off leaving said goggles on helmet at all times...
4. Running the mowhawk on your helmet is for sure a goon move

What are some other good ones that you guys see out there on the track?
Not being able to ride a scooter very well for the most part.

He is the impersonation of a goon, but I would not consider him one since he can smoke me on that old bike with that riding technique and ugly looking gear combo 😂

It's an attitude and a way of life, really. Back in the day at my local track there was a guy in the 125 Beginner class back in the '80s who had his helmet fall off mid-moto. To prepare for the 2nd, he fastened his helmet so tightly that it gave him circulation problems and he passed out on the starting line, fell over, and knocked over 3 people like dominoes. True story!
Another example is one of my favorites. There was a guy who used to drive around town with a YZ250 in his truck, but it might not have ever been ridden. Perfectly clean no numbers, no frame wear... basically a garage (truck bed) queen. Anyway, one day he strolls into the business where my girlfriend worked and starts hitting on her. She didn't drop a beat and said, "No, you don't even have any numbers on your bike. I don't date spodes!!!" I married that one. Come to think of it, that guy really was more of a spode than a goon.

Crouching on the bike as soon as it gets air.

Pulling goggles over the helmet chin bar while not riding.

Spoke skins.

Energy drink stickers.

Ultra low levers.

Badly maintained controls.

Any boots that are not Tech 10s or SG12s.

Oneil gear.

Elbow guards.

People with Factory Editions that have Troy Lee Custom Paint Jobs, show up to track an hour early, take 1 lap and ask for refund because track is too deep and a little wet.Oh and in 92’ Wolf Creek,Tx 125 Int Class remember practice looking at this guy on a beater RM, had jeans, steel toe work boots,Goon helmet and laughing, whipped my ass both moto’s with my AXO gear and kick ass bike. I could go on for days, I’ve seen everything that has been posted above on a weekly basis.

Riding fast in the pits always pisses me off, I remember as far into the 90’s after doing a 20 plus 2 at southwick having to push your bike uphill

Back in the day you could spot a goon long before he ever got to the track, He, or they for that matter, were the idiots wearing their gear on the way to the track. Usually they were spotted at the local 7-eleven wearing their entire gear bag minus helmet and boots, standing in line trying to look all badass while paying for the champion breakfast of Twinkies and a Mountain Dew. Worst part of it is, after you arrive at the track and get all setup, they recognize you from the store and within seconds head over to your pit as if they have found their newest best buddy........

Real question...why do all goons run visor super low or high? Do they not thing to themselves mmmm everyone else’s visor is normal and mines to the sky or touching my chest Laughing Laughing also...why do goons have no common sense on a track? I swear these idiots stop on top of a landing of a double or ride the track backwards all the time.

I would even consider a fast rider a goon that comes off the main track to the vet track and ride around trying to prove he is faster than everyone... yeah guy it’s the vet track!

visor (peak) height seems to be a common one, surely should depend on the day low sun needs low visor

another good sign is pushing their way to front of the queue for practice sessions or turning up really early so they can be first out (winning in their mind Wink )

Back in the pits, helmet (with goggles still on) just thrown down on the floor, bike leaning against the clapped out van (most goon riders don’t own a stand), both fork seals blown, no knobblies on middle of the rear tyre, spokes missing, end of the levers snapped off.

That must be one of those internet magic pics is the dress blue or white or red? My wife said there is a dirt bike in that pic and damned it can see it I’ve been looking for hours.
