So the shop up the road has a 2018 450 listed at $4,499 that doesn’t include everything as far as paperwork goes, I have a 756 credit score but I don’t have 5 grand chilling around my place either, estimated payments?

What ever you want to pay for how ever long you want to pay they will work with you to sell the bike.

Get them to throw in a new 600 helmet on your loan to.

Rate? Term? State for taxes? Lots of missing information. Once you figure that out, this should help: https://m.onlineloancalculator.org/
Yea not too sure what the rate will be, I don’t want a hard pull on my credit if I won’t end up getting it

A single credit check will not adversely affect your credit. But if you’re still concerned, save your money until you can pay cash... good deals will always come around.

Never heard of a Google nor have I ever heard of being able take out your entire credit limit as 0% cash for X months, but who knows!

Pssshhh. $80 a month in nothing. So you don’t eat out 4-5 days a month. Easy!

The 0% introductory rate on a CC is the way to go if you don't have the funds and pay it off before the intro period ends.
Never pay interest...

if you cant pay it off before the 0% time ends, MAKE SURE you refinance somehwere else. Onces the promo period ends, you get charged ALL of the interest from day 1. So if its a $5k bike, you're going to be around 21% interest, as soon as you end the promo period, you’re getting $1500 added to your bill. Doesnt matter if you still owe $4000, or $4.

When I financed my 2019 KTM 250sxf they gave me 11% with a 780 credit score. I was baffled. But for active duty military it goes down to zero percent depending on who you finance with. So that's what I did. But I walked out with the bike financed at 7499. I pay $150 a month, but with interest it would have been $197.

You'll pay more for the bike by using a credit card. Dealers aren't supposed to charge you the vendor fees for using a card, but they certainly keep those in the back of their mind when making the best deal. If it's going to cost the dealer 2.5% for you to swipe the card, guess how much more your "best" deal suddenly becomes?

I've done transactions such as this using an access check from the card company; it avoids the terminal fee and both parties are happier.

I got 0% apr for 12 months financing for a new kawi 1.5 months ago. The interest goes up to 10.99 (I think) after the 12 months is up and interest will only be on the remaining balance not retro to amount financed.. Pretty cool for Kawasaki/citi bank to do this. Makes it that much easier to get a new bike. Cheers.

Save for it? Put away 100 bucks a week and you'll have your own bike finance free this time next year.

Financing a deprecating asset is playing with fire. But this is the American way.

I did it, but the nagging feeling that something MIGHT break and wreak havoc stayed with me.

I would choose an older 2-stroke if you can pay that cash.

Yep, my current CC was 0% for 24 mos. $7500 limit. 755 credit score. I thought about financing a portion of my truck using this but the savings weren't enough for me to deal with the hassle.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard stated.

SO dropping $5000 cash today for a depreciating asset is somehow smarter than paying $80 a month for the same depreciating asset?

It still cost you $5000 and it still is worth the same at the end!

Ding ding ding. Which is exactly why they offer these loss leader deals. More people end up in the position you described than don’t. If it didn’t work for the finance company, they wouldn’t do it.

The argument you are having that if you can’t afford to pay cash for something you should not own it is different than saying you shouldn’t buy it on time because it is a depreciating asset.

I was gonna buy my wife’s grand Cherokee a couple years ago cash, they gave me the vehicle for zero percent interest, so I left my money in the bank and used their money for free!

Just me, but if I could not even manage to save up $5K in life savings I don't think I would be running out to the dirt bike shop trying to find a way to make life harder. If your motor grenades you dont even have the money fix, the bike is worth $0 and you still owe the $7,000.

Nothing wrong with financing if you can afford it. You cant afford it.

Rate starting at 2.99% for 36 months.
If you checked your credit score on a website such as credit karma, it will be slightly lower at the dealer.
Mines always higher then what credit karma says

Yeah, great advice. Save up a bunch of hard earned money, then pull it out the bank and spend it all on a dirt bike, great move Grinning
oh, and get no credit out of it either... if you did actually save enough to buy a bike, you might think about financing for a short term anyway.. at least you build a little credit out of it... just my opinion.

If you have good credit and a reliable steady income say anything over 700 score I put 0 down and just financed a 2022 yz250 2 stroke. I pay 250 a month got the bike for 6800 after everything about 7k. if you have time to ride its worth it in my opinion but if not I wouldn't. just be stuck w a payment for something you cant use.

Bought a coupl'a KLRs in '21 for 2.99%. Hell, the value of my money was already depreciating BEYOND that by August - September of 2021...so, I used Kawi's financing. I got my annual interest statement from them a while back: it was hilarious. Virtually nothing.

Some folks will tell ya not to finance anything. They have a valid point; but, sometimes, you've got to take 'the cost of money" into consideration. I left money in acct's/places that were making me more money than the cost of the money Kawasaki was "giving away".

Good luck.
