De Wolf got a great winter with a lot of bike time together with two top MX2 riders: Beaton and Olsen. Everts came up to the level of De Wolf when the season came to the end, but he got a horrible winter with his dad fighting for his life, being trained by his grandfather Harry who luckily had some time because Jonass was still injured, but that wasn't optimal.

Karssemakers kept under the level of those two for the whole season, but sometimes kids need a little bit time to adapt.

DOB from all those guys:

Kay Karssemakers: 18 June 2004
Kay de Wolf: 29 September 2004
Liam Everts: 06 August 2004

Please note that off those three guys, Karssemakers had the ‘worst’ material and budget probably. De Wolf is basically a factory rider, Everts has his dad and connections with KTM. I think they all three had a decent rookie season and did well.

Anstie eventually with VHR KTM alongside Tixier.
Don't know much about the team, but it must be a great catch for them if they...
1) Can afford it
2) Can keep him happy with the bike

Since Darian Sanayei seems to be staying in the US for 2020 trying to get a ride for SX I thought Max would end up with DRT. Any idea why that didn't work out?

Can we assume that Max may be difficult to work with? He has been at many teams over his career, some not really staying for long. I've met him a few times and he didn't come across in person, with me and my son, the same way as he does in interviews. Just wondering, he is an MXGP race winner and yet he seems to be out in the cold.

Please note that in the 85's they had equal material and De Wolf was the fastest most of the time

He must be challenging on some level to always end up like this. He is a too good rider for anything else.

I guess a rider of his calibre expects a salary. A good ride(factory or factory supported), going to all the fly-aways

What could scare teams off?
Historically he always keeps getting injured, and missing races.
I know his dad didn't make his cooperation with the teams easier in the past, but I don't think he is very involved anymore?

I feel he has at least a decent following on IG, and when interviewed he is always very well spoken.

What does Max do when the camera is off to scare everybody away?

Any reliable info on Bobryshev, Strijbos and Paturel?

As far as i know there are most likely like 2 places on full-calendar MXGP teams for those guys:
1x DRT
1x SR Honda Motoblouz (probably)
1x VHR (huge maybe)
1-2x BOS GP (you need basically crystal ball to tell for sure if they are 4 real)

As has been mentioned, it is strange that they signed Evans, who still could have raced MX2 for another 3 years, over Vlaanderen, who has aged out.
Not that I'm complaining - that is an absolutely stellar achievement for Evans to be signed to that team

Bobryshev will be at RFX Husqvarna, just waiting to be released from his BOS contract I believe before it can be announced.

Anstie was rumoured to be in talks with VHR KTM.

Please note that that’s probably why Martens did sign him Wink

But as Mattii said, some youngsters need more time. From what I’ve seen so far, he has work to do in the future.. but he is a great rider. Watched him several races in the Dutch Masters and he isn’t too far off the pace. I’m a big De Wolf and Everts fan by the way

Karssemakers is rumoured with MJC Yamaha, together with Ivano van Erp.

The Silly Season is currently in its peak form, because the rumour kitchen regarding a new factory team in Germany is really explosive.

With the purchase of GasGas, KTM Industries AG quietly and secretly ignited a small fire regarding a possible GasGas plant team for 2020. And it wasn't too long before KTM CEO Stefan Pierer stoked the fire by confirming to CycleNews that GasGas would also enter the motocross market.

Will there soon be a gas gas instead of Husqvarna?
Will there soon be a gas gas instead of Husqvarna?

Here it is planned that the bikes will be built on the basis of the current KTM models. In principle similar to the case with the purchase of Husqvarna, so that there should be only slight modifications to existing material and you will have a third iron in the MX fire with GasGas.

Rumour has it that there will be a factory team of the manufacturer in both the MXGP and MX2 classes, with both teams currently on KTM and Husqvarna respectively in the World Championships. Speculation is currently swirling that at least the MX2 team will be based in Germany and that DIGA- Procross will be awarded the contract. The Big Boys believe in a brand and status change at Standing Construct, so that Coldenhoff and Monticelli are to move out as factory drivers instead of KTM satellite pilots in 2020.

However, these rumours are still pending, as neither KTM nor DIGA Procross team principal Justin Amian have yet to comment.

Another treat, one thinks, is supposed to be the second driver of the new factory team, because here one speculates next to the DIGA pilot Jeremy Sydow on another German: Simon Längenfelder!

Putting Coldenhoff and Monticelli with RED-KTMs will be all GasGas there be for couple months of time. Dont think they have enough time to anything else with bikes.

It's not much work for KTM / Kiska to do "Gas Gas" specific bodywork (not just Red versions of either KTM or KTHuskies plastics, although, that approach would amount to uttlerly buggerall cost) and, either KTMs production alloy subframe, or the KTHuskies plastic composite subframe can easily be used / hidden under it. And case covers with Gas Gas engraved in them is as of nothing for them. And heck, if I can make a swingarm ( which is perhaps the single major metal difference between the K and H chassis, other than subframe mounts) in a few days / couple of weeks, 'Gas Gas' can make a slightly different one to both the KTM, and KTHusky versions in a few months , if they wanted to go that far ........

Standing Construct would be the perfect instant "Gas Gas" MXGP Team. Woohoo

The biggest cost, and not an insubstantial one, would be the Team re-branding to that of Gas Gas - signage, uniforms , Truck and Team livery, Promotional materials etc.

I wouldnt ride one cos its a stupid name.

Seriously though, the world bought into it once with Husqvarna, will it do it again. I am struggling to see where the benefit of a third brand is . Would ha e made more sense not to have killed off Husaberg.

Maybe Spain is a biger market than Sweden eh? And Latam too... Plus the trials bike. I bet it will be a tad cheaper than the KTM, like Seat for Volkswagen.

Doesn't Hoff have a contract with KTM as a brand? Wouldn't they breach their own contract?

Just read Anstie might be going to HEP Suzuki in the US. Would be a shame but also cool to see.
