Late to the party here , but welcome aboard David. Looking forward to your column , bike tests and so forth too. I was bummed to hear you left RacerX , but it looks we might get some of that stuff here now. Hopefully you keep it light and some what fun for yourself , because in the end , that's what counts.

Must admit I’m a bit confused by you showing up here Ping... you made it sound as though you had too much on your plate and needed to pull back from your Moto-journal work to focus on your family. I guess we don’t get the straight truth with you. Like when you said the beef you started with Pulp MX was fake news. ...looks like you’re the fake news bro.
Lol. Cool story bro. You’ve got it all figured out. 😂

Didn’t claim to have it all figured out ...and there are some blatantly obvious facts here. But this is not about me Ping. There are posts here by both people stoked that you’ve moved here AND calling your BS out. Even DC chimed in to clarify what he was told (by you). It’s a perfect opportunity for you to come clean and save some face. Are you going to take the ‘act 12-year-Old route?’ ...or take responsibility like a man?

You’re at another crossroad Bro. ...my experience is that most people are quite forgiving of those who swallow their pride and take responsibility. Sooner rather than later.

Jethro, not sure who are you are nor why in three career posts you have lit Ping up all three times, but this is not a great big deal, it's a columnist who did a great job at one outlet for a long time, and will do a great job here. Calling out his manhood and challenging his pride and character over a tonque-in-cheek advice column that simply moved to another site is a bit much...

Hey Ping,

Lake Elsinore Grand Prix is coming up this week. Have you ever raced it? It will be my third year. It's such a god time. If you're there, look for the idiot riding around Halloween costumes. Also, have you ever raced a three wheeler? It's a lot of fun at the Grand Prix. Mine even has a rack on the back for my beer cooler.

I have to laugh at how quickly this went from “welcome Ping” to a series of conspiracies as to why he left RacerXill. A few Vital members can be outright rude but for the most part they are the most educated fan base around. Welcome to the jungle Ping!

I thought this was a thread to ask him actual questions about dirtbike races and stuff not attack his character Tongue

Ping, why do the USA Moto riders get Epstein bar and the MXGP guys don’t?

I went off on Ping because he talked crap on one who should have been his good friend - Matthes, and then lied about not doing it. (He responded to my post on Racer X) Then he lied about the situation leaving your Racer X. Maybe you’re okay with it because you deal with people or situations like this all the time? ...but I feel a sense of loyalty to Racer X and PulpMX for all you’ve both done for the sport I love and took issue with it. Perhaps because I liked and agreed with most of what Ping said over the years and was bummed by some of his recent bad moves. Disloyalty is an epidemic, but it happens and I get it. I was also not questioning his manhood, I was questioning his childish behavior. There is a difference. Calling him out in hopes that he stepped up for his own good. Would like to see him clear the air with you guys. It has nothing to do with me. So if you’re okay with that DC, then all good. I’m just an observer.

Getting along with ANYONE who believes the same shit as Matthes is difficult. I don’t blame Ping. For the record Matthes (much like people with the same dumbass beliefs as himself often do) is the one who created friction. Ranting and raving about guns and the president. That fat fuck should go home to Canada. 👋🏻
to get along with someone that does not think the same as you on every topic is not difficult, unless you make it,

I understand and appreciate how you feel about Racer X and Vital MX, but I have a bit of loyalty to Vital MX -- been a member since the drop of the gate and friends with Guy B ever since -- and I hate seeing things get blown out of proportion here by anyone on what should be a fun, informative and ongoing conversation about motocross. So I don't want people to get the wrong impression about what happened with Ping. He called, we talked, he told me he wanted to spend more time at home, but also test more products, and we mutually decided it was a good time to call it a day. Then he asked me what I thought about Vital MX and a new opening here to do more testing. I told him we were brothers-in-arms with Vital and to keep riding motocross and keep his name out there for as long as he could, because once you stop showing up, it's hard to get back to that relevancy... He mulled it over and a couple days later took the job and wrote his farewell. We wrote ours and moved on too.

I always used to say, "All things end badly--that's why they end." I don't want the whole Ping/Racer X thing to end badly because of outsiders taking sides and guesses. That's why I focused in on your posts on the topic. I don't get to listen to every podcast or show, nor do I get to read every column, so I don't know much about the back-and-forth with Matthes and Ping or anyone else that has been mentioned. What I do know is that Ping worked for Racer X, not Pulp MX, and now he works for Vital MX, doing exactly what he told me he wanted to do -- ride and test more products, keep working his way up in the fire department, and spend more time with his family.

Those aren't bad priorities for an ex-racer-turned-columnist-turned-fireman/father.

Thank you, Davey. For those trying to find dirt in all this and create drama, it just isn’t going to happen. We parted ways on the best terms and I have nothing but respect for all the Racer X guys.
As far as my issues with Matthes, it was a political argument that he couldn’t get over. I sent him multiple dates that I was available to come back on his show, even followed up on them, and he never responded. He told people I was too busy and too expensive, which Just wasn’t true; My price to come on the show never changed. There have since been some comments back and forth that are unfortunate, and hopefully we can sort it out in time.
This position at Vital allows me to continue with testing and the things I’ve loved to do for years, while also giving me more free time to spend with my family.

I don't think Ping or DC owe us any explanation or detailed breakdown of how everything happened. The man left one job for another. He's still in the MX world and I for one am grateful for that. My only thought was maybe he wanted to focus solely on firefighting and family but when the Vital announcement came out I thought "Oh Awesome, he's still here". My mind didn't go straight into some dumbass conspiracy theory, didn't go into some political rabbit hole or start calling him names demanding an explanation. Why can't people just listen to all the different podcasts, read the articles, and have discussions about MX without turning this into some housewives of NY/NJ bullshit?

It’s much better to hear more info regarding your side of the fallout Ping. ...saying it was just fake news left many of us wondering since there was some mud slinging going on. I hope you can work it out with Matthes as well as I thought you were one of the best cohosts he had. My apologies for blowing you out without all the info... I went too far even though I was wanting the best outcome for you. Best of luck here on Vital and all your endeavors!!!

Thanks Davey for your insight. Great example of taking the high road. You are a scholar and a gentleman.

There is no conspiracy... except what a couple of you are trying to create.

Let’s just ride dirt bikes and have fun.

Ping
Fair enough.

Count me in on the requests for a Chinese Takeout 2.0 then!
