This guy seems to go under the radar. You never hear much about him. He has speed every once in a while, even has some wins. Does anyone know what is holding him back from being a top contender?

Looking back all this years to the 250 class years on the PC bike- he was a dominant force late in the race over & over again. And he’s never repeated that or shown that kind of performance on a 450.

Does anyone think there could’ve been something suspect there? With PED’s at all?

He was CRAZY fast in the 250 class on the PC bike. He would be railing 2-4 seconds a lap faster in the last 10 minutes of the race outdoors numerous times.

I believe he broke his wrist several years ago and was never the same after that.

He had Parvovirus this year that took away his energy.

Also his thumb in 2017. He said they had to tape it so he can at least hold on to the handlebar, because it was basically ripped off the bone. And he was still riding for top 3..

no dude. no one thinks that and thats a pretty disrespectful thing to say. 90% of riders that do really well on 250's flounder on 450's. he has been an above average 450 rider when healthy. esp 2017 when he was giving tomac everything he could handle before the thumb injury.

Some guys are small bore specialists and never show the same results in the big boy class.

The 450s are tough. BB4 has have some injuries and health issues but generally the 450s are just tough.

He's still one of the few that can, on any given night, go out and pull off a win. Not many riders are in that category.

I believe, that if he gets stuff clicking, he could run away with a championship.

the forced move up rule has killed alot of careers

and taken away many championships.

to make a contrived result.

kinda like the 4t cc advantage

but shhh we cant be critical of a certain person.

Apparently he has found out about numerous food allergies that has been holding him back the past year, hindering his performance and stamina. If he gets that all sorted and finds way to take in the right nutrition without getting sick we should see better results. Guy still shreds regardless.

Every year I hope for a 2012 BB comback, I honestly beleive when he's on he's the best outdoor rider in the AMA, saw flashes of it before Anderson took him out a couple of years ago and hurt his thumb

The last 2 GP moto's Herlings won, He railed the final laps to take the win.

Must be drugs right? or only Americans cheat ?

He broke his right wrist very badly at A1 in 2013. IIRC it has required multiple surgeries over the years. For sure that injury has held him back a bit from his 250 El Chupacabra days, even though he has been able to adapt and overcome it for the most part.

Its true some or even most don't succeed after moving up. I would think the 250 would be better for some. I mean, hurts on the start, but then its all good after that. Plus, villo proved good starts are possible on smaller bike. Just outdooors though. Indoors is a sprint, the faster bike probably a bit better. Who knows?

I still laugh at Tyler's "BRAKE BRAGGET!!!" post. So that's what I scream at the TV each round "GO GET EM BRAKE BRAGGET!"

That and Anderson's Benjamin Button comment. HA!

Blake is a good dude. Always happy to see him get good results.
