Side note since Micky is doing better. Didn't he race a 4 stroke Husky before the 86' Honda season. Was this the bike?

UPDATE FROM BRENDA, 10/15/19 6:30 pm PT

Guess who is out of ICU!
Micky was moved to the neuro unit here at the hospital this afternoon and he was finally able to get his MRI. We are officially in the renewal phase! He has come so far since waking up yesterday. He’s been piecing things together more and more with each conversation, has cracked some funny jokes, and even asked for a beer! 😉
We are very well aware of the fact that this is only the beginning and that he has a long way to go. The recovery for his brain is going to take time. The next phase is expected to include rounds of speech, physical and occupational therapy and as you can imagine, Micky is ready to get on with it! And so are we! 👊👊 #gomicky #lovewins ❤️
Bigfoot and Brenda, thanks for keeping us so closely updated. Absolutely awesome news! I read the last 2 updates at the same time. The good news brought tears of happiness. Man, life is fragile...but MXer's arent! You can't be a champion without being heart-strong...AND head-strong!

Micky's partner Brenda just posted this photo and caption. Awesome!

Hello World!! 👋 Micky said I could post this photo 😎 isn’t he a sight for sore eyes!!❤️ He’s coming along day by day, and it’s the raddest thing ever. His care team continues to be very supportive and kind which is awesome. I think he’s entertaining everyone in here 😊 I will have a proper update on the MRI later but it’s all very positive and even though he will have a ways to go, I can tell you with confidence that we are on the right track! 💪#gomicky #lovewins ❤️

He has that look like he just figured out how to perfect cooking meth with a ex student in a camper.

UPDATE FROM BRENDA
10/17/19 9:00 pm PT

Micky, Steve Weidler, and David Bailey

Today was a big day! The amount of therapy is yet to be determined and we are slowly coming to grips with how long this process will be but we continue to be grateful for every single day and every little milestone Micky makes✨ Check him out doing a hot lap in the Neuro Unit 💪💪 He is trying so hard and really wants to improve. I loved watching him light up when David Bailey and Steve Weidler visited today (they were riding with Micky when he crashed and today was the first time they all got to be together since the accident). Micky also got to see his brother Donny which was really awesome, and of course, Wardy came by again and it’s always a good time. We love you @jeffward3x! As for me @xtrema_girl, I’m just totally exhausted about now (day 8) but every time I see Micky smile and do something new (like shave!!!) I am reenergized and incredibly motivated. He’s really working hard to do all the therapy and so insanely strong-willed you guys...it’s no wonder he is a champion 👊👊#truecolors #gomicky #lovewins ❤️

Gosh - really glad to see he is on the mend.
The guy spends all those years racing cross bikes and surviving it then gets a right old bang on his bicycle! Goes to show there can be alot danger in many pursuits- I guess also crossing the road though can be very dangerous!

I recently had the scare of my life- house fire, managed to put it out but breathed in gob loads of smoke and nearly caught my hair and face alight or close. Taken to hospital for tests. Amazingly walked off from it with a 1cm cut! Only injury! Talk about lucky! TBH- very thankful to still be here!

Most important thing Mickey looks on the mend. What a rider he was and those great years of racing we were blessed with.

UPDATE FROM BRENDA LYONS
1018/2019 9:00 pm PT

Ok folks, let’s have a reality check. We are all beyond grateful to have our Micky here with us....but for him, the work has only just begun. Let me be clear, he has a serious head injury. He sustained multiple brain contusions and a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage. The nurses have reminded me several times how “lucky” we are, and after spending nearly a week in ICU and now four full days in the neuro trauma unit, I have indeed seen first hand how fortunate we are. Many others are not so fortunate and it’s heartbreaking. I have been trying to keep things very positive because I truly believe in mindset but the fact is ...he/we are looking at a long healing process ahead to get him back to normal. Micky has been just sooooo loving to his family and friends and is clearly happy to be alive and doing his absolute best to improve ...which he has, but he is also starting to realize that his brain is “hurt” and he needs help. He will remain under 24 hr care for a few more days (at most we hope) and then the goal is to have him moved to a rehabilitation facility so that he can receive the best brain care possible. Please keep sending the good vibes. Also, please know that we will start fundraising for him very soon, and I’m going to ask you from the bottom of my heart to help him... he will need your support on this journey and I promise you he will be grateful forever ✨ #gomicky #lovewins #champion #legend #mickydymond

People have died from significantly less traumatic injuries. By no means is Micky finished with this chapter of his life....but at least there will be more chapters to write! Brenda, your journey should be recognized as well. It’s going to be a long one, but you seem to have a strong and realistic outlook. You’ve got this Brenda! If nothing else, this will bring you two closer and make Mickey even more appreciative of everything around him.

Best of luck and prayers for total full recovery and for the journey ahead and starting to understand the situation clearer.

Things like this really make you appreciate how precious health and even life can be at these trying times.

Staying positive with a strong and loving attiude seems so important from most of all our loved ones, family and friends to help support each other. It really is invaluable- some people sadly have nobody I guess to support them at these times, which probably makes the journey to recovery SO much harder I would think.

Wow, what a tough thing to happen. Poor guy. Heck. He’s certainly got a good woman there with him. Thank God for her
