This guy is on a serious roll, and KTM made a decision they are likely regretting right now..

I think he's on a multi year deal with Standing Construct.

KTM put Coldenhoff in the right environment for him at the end of last year (he had the best time of his career with Standing Construct and Tim Mathys) and the provided him with factory bikes and support.

With Herlings, Cairoli and now Prado there was no room for him.

i think he is in a great team and spot .. the factory team might have been to much pressure for Glenn , racing next to Cairoli and Herlings expectations were high ... looks like he feels good in this team and the bike is good enough for podiums or even wins .. i dont see him change teams ..

There's nothing wrong with the team he's now in. Now he's the top guy there and not in the shadow of Tony and Herlings

The difference, I think, is Standing Construct is as close to a factory team as you can get. Full access to factory parts? Not a big drop off like you might get in other circumstances.

Plus, he's still riding an orange bike while he's out there kicking everyone's ass, which is ultimately the point of signing guys to your factory team.

I guess it is close to ATV/MC's bikes (versus full factory KTM)

To be fair, I rate him above all the other KTM riders, yes even Herlings....

Coldenhoff rapidly improved this autumn when he moved over to the old engine package.

With even starts he has nothing for Herlings if Herlings is healthy. But Prado, Herlings, coldenhoff, gaiser, cairoli next year? Fuck that's an interesting line up.

Yeah right 4 Gp's VS 86 Gp's!
He's a good racer but not on Herlings or Cairoli's level and now Prado is also comming.

Pretty sure Tim from Standing Construct and Glenn will friendly decline them... They are doing all the engine work in house and they are maniacs. Look at Standing Construct: They made fast bikes from Suzuki when they rode with Jens Getteman, they made fast KTM's in the 250cc class, they've build fast Yamaha's in the 250 class and now he's doing the same in the 450cc class.

He always goes for the best performance from the bike, without compromises. That is why it didn't worked out with Yamaha and he didn't became the factory team. Can you imagine that Tim came close to become the factory Suzuki team? He would've blown everyone away with his crew building MTFF Suzuki's.

Hoff should be on the KTM Redbull Factory no doubt. Now he is better than AC and he is young.

Ok I'll bite, in what way do you rate Glen over Herlings, sure not as a rider and if you are I'll happily take a bet with you as to who finishes higher in the Go's next year

A bit like in the US, not all the stars are in the same team (KTM, Husky, and Rocky Mountain)

I saw Tim Mathys commenting on some fb account and he said that they had no factory support on the engine and suspension. They have their own engine guy.

To make my post a bit more understandable.

When he started with the team back in 2012

In 2014 he switched to KTM

Then he went on with Yamaha as "supported team" and got great results with Guillod, Lieber, Tonkov, ...

And now he's in the paddock with a 450cc team and again those engines are going like crazy! He got a great crew that is without a doubt and that is something he says every time he gets a chance.

By the way between the first KTM period and Yamaha he came close to becoming the Suzuki Factory team. So close that Glenn Coldenhoff already signed a contract with the Suzuki factory, almost certain that a few days later Tim would do the same. But then they didn't wanted someone who also got a company that he was leading full time. A factory team isn't a thing you're leading on the side, that is what they thought back then. Looking back at that decision they were idiots. Now these days you've Louis Voster from Wilvo who's leading also a factory team and soon we've Kay Hennekens from Nestaan who will be leading a factory team. If they can do that Tim Mathys can too. But Suzuki was without a doubt also scared about his no bullshit way of working. And if you want to keep your R&D on board of your factory team, being the smart asses coming up with solutions out of Japan months after they were needed... Don't think that would've worked, knowing that this was also a problem at Yamaha. Creating your own solutions and then getting into trouble with Rinaldi who does the "R&D and Tuning" back then and now is even more into that at Yamaha.

Blow up more than it would have after the same results at the same race last season? Or how he was doing in the last couple GPs.

Hoff is a factory rider plus gets a massive salary from Standing itself. I’d be pissed if I were Rockstar, I know they are bummed they lost him.

It's hard to imagine that satellite team bikes are that far off full factory
