Will the riders taking the Chamberlain trophy have the right to defend their title the year after?

What do you think if under this given scenario, next year all the riders that opted out for this race suddenly want to have a go at it?

I really like this USA team and hope they pull it off.

Going to be a big feat to win, but these guys are all heart and it wouldn’t surprise me if they end up on the box. Hopefully on the top, that would be outstanding !!

The fans will be throwing seats onto the track in protest.

I think they have a very good shot at second place.
And then it takes a little bit of luck (or bad luck for team Netherlands)

With regards to Team USA, I think the team is picked on the best riders available
for the given year, right? I don't think the riders from the prior year get automatic
right of first refusal or anything like that.

The aftermaths of USA winning MXoN...

1.) On USA
- They would have acomplish another miracle. Their second one after miracle on ice, they would have made miracle on sand

2.) on me
- I would make stupid thread as an open letter/apology for doubting them and teasing vitards with memes and delete the thread in a week or two.

3.) on the universe
- not much, only few aliens pirating mxgp-tv broadcast would deem it cool and bigger success than Area 51 paRAID

Pick the best that are willing to go, pay back, retribution what ever you want to call it is counter productive.

Ozzy will be out for blood returning to europe.... El hombre wants to show the euros what's up, and coop should be good for a couple decent starts.... If coop can put in a top five, our odds are looking good this year...

They got 7th last year at hometrack RedBud with Tomac. I wouldn’t go spouting off how good they’re gonna do.

Yeah...a muddy MXGP prepped Red Bud not the typical Red Bud. (Can't be Red Bud without The Leap.)

Come on...we know US riders suck in wet conditions compared to MXGP guys...hahaha

Yeah, they had a bad day, and you're going to mention it every chance you get. They are better riders than what they showed, not prepared for those conditions on that day. Shit happens, but if you think that those three riders in most any other condition were not in contention for the win you're delusional.

Not 7th... And were you there? I was and that was not Red Bud as any of us American's know it. Without the Tomac bike fail in qualy, our gate pick would have been MUCH better. I also think it would have had a big effect on our results. Plessinger was the weak spot. But he went down fighting for the lead in his qualy. But that's what makes this event so interesting. Every time, every rider on your team is on the track, it matters.

And this weekend? They'll need everything they've got, and then some. But it's not quite what you make it out to be at Red Bud...

Red Bud means absolutely nothing. Different time, different track, different riders, different mentality. If you don't think these guys are contenders, you're out of your mind. And nobody is "spouting off" about how good they're gonna do. Just giving opinions and/or what they hope to see.

If these guys win, they are national heroes and deserve a parade. Maybe even modify Mt. Rushmore to look like Jason, Zach, and Justin.
I think they have a very legit chance. We shall find out

I can only see the Netherlands beating them imo . All the teams that i would have put ahead of them are all injured. I would of had France and Italy adhead ,but not now . I think they have a real good chance at winning, but it will take the Netherlands to mess up in a race .

If Team USA did win, it would be an amazing underdog victory and an unbelievable way to end the current loss streak considering no one is expecting them to win against the home team.

Anything is possible of course but I do not expect them to win this year, though I will be hoping they do! It already makes for a great story leading into it, a podium finish would be great. Anything less will be unfortunately disappointing for us yanks and a win would be a miracle. Can’t wait!

Also, I just want to add how much I hate when people blame America’s result last year at Red Bud because “that was not a typical Red Bud” “they turned Red Bud into a GP track!” Save it... It was an even playing field, nobody rode that type of Red Bud before, our entire team just straight up lost. No excuses.

If something goes wrong for the Dutch why couldn’t they win it
France and Italy, UK all have depleted squads
The US guys picked this year treated the event with the respect it deserves and came over early to prepare for a good result.

The first question is a little confusing. The riders don't seem to have much say in being chosen, only that they can decline if they want to. So reality is that they don't have the right, but are you asking if they *should* have the right? That would be interesting, maybe with a few requirements, like having to be top-whatever in the series, be injury free, not be on probation, or whatever else that may make sense. Anyway, I like the idea of putting something together that gives last year's winning team first shot at being on next year's team.

Second question, probably not en masse, but yes I do think it would create a little extra drive.

I really like this team too. Also think Reed was spot on about burning the candle at both ends, but ultimately I think they'll do better than if they rested more.

If those guys pull it off then someone legit needs to throw a parade, party, all the above for when they get home and a legit movie needs to be made about it...none of this saving the farm shit.

Imagine who all would be left to do things if we never picked something again because it made a mistake, or a choice we didn't agree with.

Because Eli is the top American rider, the Euro's need to hate on someone. Funny enough there's this idea that any time Tomac has raced the MXdN he's done nothing but shit the bed but in reality aside from a massive crash in the first moto in 2013, which he came back from and nearly won the second moto from outside the top ten, he has been the best American every time he has been picked. But yet the Tomac fans are the ones with "selective memory" lmao.
