The races will be awesome. But the race for the trophy IMO will be among NED and the US
When you say 4 of the top 5 MXGP guys will be there, the likes of Febvre, Cairoli and Desalle, who would clearly normally be top 5 weren't BECAUSE they were injured.
The top guys at the end of any season will necessarily not include those that are injured and out of MXoN.
He is light, a great starter and doesn't back down.
France: Without Febvre, Ferrandis, Vialle
Belgium: Without Desalle and Lieber
GBR: Without Anstie, Ben Watson, Wilson and Searle
Australia: Without Lawrence and Mitch Evans
USA: Without Tomac and Cianciarulo
Italy: Without Cairoli and Cervellin
Germany: Without an entire team in Roczen, Jacobi & Nagl
Switzerland: Without Tonus
If you don’t think those absentees are gonna cause any detriment to the performance of those teams and the overall level of competition at the event, you’re sadly deluded. You can moan that people have a different attitudes towards a Team USA ‘B team’ and B teams from other nations. But the fact is, the size and talent pool of the USA means that no matter what happens, they are able to send a team that on paper is a contender. No other country has that luxury
2019 MXdN - 16 riders inside the top ten (MXGP, MX2, AMA 450, AMA 250) are racing.
2018 MXdN - 22 riders inside the top ten (MXGP, MX2, AMA 450, AMA 250) raced.
2017 MXdN - 20 riders inside the top ten (MXGP, MX2, AMA 450, AMA 250) raced.
2016 MXdN - 21 riders inside the top ten (MXGP, MX2, AMA 450, AMA 250) raced.
It's weaker, both on paper and "feel".
From a euro team perspective, it's even worse, RG1 nailed it in the post above!
Pit Row
Thats all I hope for.
