My YZ started life as a yellow craigslist special, I found the tank in the UK. It was complete bike but needed a lot of work (lots of back yard engr)

Very nice!

I would love to have a 125 along side my 250 and 465.

Had one of those bad boys, although mine was the yellow version. Gold wheels, water cooling, right-side drive, it was like having a factory bike at the time. Decent ride, but man that thing was top-heavy as hell.

Very nice! That was the first Yamaha that I really liked.

Somebody had a pretty nice one out at Speedworld a couple of weeks ago. I snapped some pics, and I'll post them.

I had one. I loved it until I rode my buddies '81 RM125... I remember thinking, "damn, I should have waited."

WOW ! Some sweet 1981 YZs. I am working on a couple of restos.
2 1981 YZ125Hs
1 has a complete RPM motor with a ported Cyl, cases and a turbo crank. 43mm forks with 1982 triple clamps, White brothers modified shock, cone pipe and a bunch of NOS stuff.
The other bike has a SCOTT scooter service cylinder, triple clamps from the 1982 YZ250s with 43mm forks, DLS front brakes.
I have a bunch of NOS stuff as spares. Was thinking of sending the spare NOS cylinder out to have it ported like the RPM cylinder (Both of these cyliders are insane They Look like swiss cheese with ports added and original ports opened up).

Unfortunately the one bike was stolen from garage 4 years ago. It had a ton of NOS stuff on it (seat, White side panels, Rear fender, Preston petty front fender) and well after searching for it......I found it on Craigslist and got it back and everything was destroyed....But i got it back!

i can post up pics if you all want

Bump for a cool post !
There are a couple of these close by to me.
They don't seem to go for as much $$ as the aircools,
maybe not as much appeal. But I like the oddball nature of this bike.
Does anyone have a link to a motocross action or other bike test for the H ?

If anybody is looking for one, I have a complete 81 project that is disassembled, cleaned and ready for reassembly. Got an 82 in the same condition.

I really need a good, original right side panel and airbox cover for my 1981 YZ125 project. I have been stalking the auction site and vintage boards to find one for months now!

Somebody HAS to have hoarded some extra plastic for this bike somewhere!

I just bought this bike and everything looks good on it and the only big thing it's missing is the air box. does anyone know where I can get an airbox?

You looking for a rider or garage queen? NOS plastic for the 80 81 is usually really pricey.
