12/26/2023 12:10pm Maybe some back story - Tucker, in a mass layoff - let go all the Answer and Pro Taper employees that were in their California office back in 2020. Only 1-2 stayed on...but have since left, and everyone who gave sh!t about those companies has either quit or been fired. Now i don't know what's going on there, but it will never be what it once was. The brands will always be around, but the soul of those companies will not. Maybe it was a blessing, because now I work for a better company that gives a sh!t about moto...

12/26/2023 12:07pm Those are my bars of choice also - kicking myself for letting a set go when I sold my bike. They are perfect! That being said I’m running the stock Suzuki bend on my RM-Z but they do not feel the same. They are wider by the measurements I could find so I cut them down about a half inch and that helped get closer but they still feel off. I have them rolled back quite a bit too. Renthal’s feel stiff - maybe I’m crazy but I am pretty picky about my bars and grips set up. It’s a...

10/20/2020 12:48pm Shane seems like a very good guy. JMart decided to not point out as well along with many others through the years. The AMA has a stupid rule. That is not Shane's doing. This business can not work out in the best scenario for every rider. Only one person can win a title. I hope Shane finds a good ride and has success. The sport needs good people and he is one.

7/6/2019 5:42pm Anyone have any good pics from the 125 Intermediate or Expert class from back in the day? Any AZ track pics from around that time? Thanks. Dave Fouquette

7/6/2019 4:34pm Hey Mark, Didn't you brake your front axel in 1982 landing on your CR125 at Canyon in the 125 Int class? I was right next to over the same jump. Dave Fouquette

1/7/2016 9:28am The consensus was that dirt was falling off of the filter and from the back of the air box when removing it. Doesn't look like any dirt got passed the filter itself. I tossed the OEM filter day one and put in a Uni. BUT- the Uni air filter presses up against the back of the air box, which is...

1/7/2016 9:28am Hey Guys, Has anyone with a 2014-2016 YZ450 experienced dirt getting past your air filter and the back screen? It's not a lot, but enough to concern me. I'm meticulous with my bike and prep. I use a GYTR (Uni) air filter, Notoil oil and grease the lip. I clean my filter before every ride. Usually do 3 15-20 minute...

1/6/2016 9:26am That's funny, because I too was looking for some type of foam to help keep the big pieces of dirt from getting into the air box. Thanks for the link!

1/6/2016 9:21am Agreed. I'm only going to use a little compressed air around the permitter of the air filter to remove the big chunks and use your technique to remove it. I'll check out the Maxima FF oil as well. The pipe is next. Thanks man. Braaap!

1/5/2016 10:59pm So after all of these discussions, including a few off the board, my conclusion is: The Uni Filter rides too far up against the back of air box and dirt cakes up all around it due to the Cycra Powerflow shroud air intake. Even being extra careful, dirt must fall into the screen and boot when removing the filter. Solution...

1/5/2016 10:38pm Hey Matt, I really like DT1's non-grease, neoprene, dual-stage filter design to seal. I'm going to give it and a Twin Air a try. Thanks for the tip about the owner. I'll give him a call.

1/5/2016 8:56am Moto88, is this Chris? Good advice man. After I get the boot cleaned out, I'm switching to a Twin Air filter. Might try a DT1 as well. I'll use your technique for removing the filter, etc. I should be set. Thanks for the advice!

1/4/2016 9:54pm I took a look at it and it looks really good. I like the wide flange where the filter seats. I might have pull the trigger on it too. I wonder if a DT1 air filter would work with it. Hmm. If not, the Twin Air filters would be fine.
mxvet37 Added a reply to 2014 YZ450: Dirt getting past air filter
1/4/2016 9:32pm The design is flawed. It's much too easy for dirt to drop down into the boot when removing the filter. I've decided to add a step prior to washing it by hooking up my air compressor and gently blowing out the caked up dirt, etc. that gets behind the filter. Then carefully removing it, cleaning the flange and installing my...

1/4/2016 8:15am Very cool. You're the second person to suggest DT1. I'll definitely check them out! Thanks for the input.

1/3/2016 11:29am I was using the Twin Air cover to wash the bike, but water was getting through. I bought a Notoil cover and it works much better. Just hope the new Notoil cover works with the Twin Air Powerflow kit. I spend too much money on this shit.
The increased noise from the air box isn't something I'm looking forward...

1/3/2016 11:09am Thanks guys. I just looked at one on line and it looks solid. The only concern for me would be when I'm removing the air filter. It would be very easy for some dirt to fall straight down into the intake without the screen. And since it's bolted down with 10 bolts, not easy to remove to get the dirt...

1/3/2016 11:01am LOL- I'd ask the same question. And I agree, a lot of people don't oil the filters properly. I'm very thorough and do saturate the entire filter with Notoil, let it sit for about 15 minutes then put it in a clean paper towel and give a couple of good squeezes to make sure it's not over oiled. The dirt...
