Good post, but if i had a guy to. Bet on, it would be. Rc. And rv is a bad mofo. 2nd to rc. And the current group. Tomac and herlings. Top 2.

I agree that Tomac and Herlings are the current two best riders, that RC is the GOAT, that RV among the greatest of all time, etc but one important name I think should be in there is Antonio Cairoli. RC is the GOAT due to the number of races/titles he won indoors and out over a period of years. I believe the closest to RC (outdoors at least) is Cairoli. In fact, I would say he has equaled RC outdoors. RC just had SX skills and titles in addition to crazy outdoor skills. RC and RV both could have easily won another outdoor or indoor ama title or two if they had chosen to. They both retired retired young.
No matter how many titles Everts had, I just don't believe he was on par with any of the names mentioned. I think Cairoli would walk all over Everts if they were in their prime, and Everts had a mouth he couldn't always back up. Cairoli didn't act like that and did his talking on the track. I know some are gonna disagree on that, but that's just my opinion.

You're crazy if you think AC has matched RC in outdoors! Carmichael is UNDEFEATED outdoors, never lost a single title. And that's while having to race Supercross during the winter and spring.

RC retired from full time racing at 27 with 10 out of 10 outdoor championships. AC is 33 and still only has 9 titles out of 15. Also, RC has 2 perfect seasons and one of those was against a prime Chad Reed and Kevin Windham. RC is better and it's not even close.
It was simply about total number of outdoor titles Cairoli has, and I did include that RC had supercross titles in addition to all the outdoor titles. I included that RC retired young and could've won more titles most likely. Try to keep what I said in it's context and not argue by stating things that I stated myself. If you disagree and want to tell me why, then cool. I'm not "crazy" though.

Okay guys, I am an euro, working in a team as a mechanic. For now on I have been in every GP this year that has been held in Europe and saw the great battles of TC & TG. Shit, one good thing is the battles from those two guys, but the races itself, have been awesome to watch as all those guys scoring points are literally 2sec apart in laptimes. So you are 2 sec slower in Timed Practice and pow 17th place. I saw the ADAC race also today, and will come back to it later. First there are some America alike questions to get the interesting hell going on here.

1.st America is not the greatest military power in the world. They try to claim that NATO is the greatest with their Alliance but I am more sure that The Alliance Between Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Syria, Brazil, South Africa, Iran propably would and some time in the near future will send this glorious jew operated debt organization called USA back to their Jewish Jerusalem, for having a 17+ trillion dollar debt. And still pounding the fist against your heart with those stars and stripes and made in china flags.

But back to mx

I have bern a fan of this great sport at the early 90s

Bailey, Emig, Windham, Pastrana, Ricky, Villo, who ever you put on the list, none of them could go to Lommel and say, fuck seems like a good day to go faster than Bullet. Nope guys, don't even fucking dream. You watch the races in tv, it is 100% different from real life. It is tell-a-lie-vision.

Rockzen came and dominated, now he is coming back from injury, but could never dominate the Gp's anymore.

So is with marvin.
Southwick for euros is a watered down hardpack
So anyone who thinks that someone could be close to Jeffrey in Assen. Well I could bet my liver on that

Today, Seewer got the holeshot, made 3 quick laps, crashed, and Jeffrey caught him but was having a huge arm pump problem. At first i taught he is pulling a tear off, but it was arm pump, so couldn't match the pace of Seewer, inthe last 3-4 laps, Leok was catching him, tried to pass him outside, but Jeffrey had it in control mode and didn't lose the position. On for the second race, most of the technical parts of the track were flattened, so that the local German, Austrian local heroes wouldn't look too bad and Jeffrey took the holeshot and ran away with Seewer, they gapped the third guy about 40sec, Guillod on that given moment, and 4 laps before the end, Jeffrey got past by Seewer and i guess he wasn't ready yet. Didn't look like bullet, yet. But he is getting stronger. Leok was third again. Expressed the field from a last 4 lap freight train. Coming from 6th to 4th.

Yeah i can remember, ricky smoking everyone in the states but i guess everts still went with him and everts might have beaten him, but i won't bet on that.
Villopoto was also amultitalent champion of the great AMA series and then somehow embarrassed himself in the euro series, cause he couldn't literally keep the pace.

So Americas fast mx times ended with Ricky, now the euros have caught THE US & A and give them a run for the money. So don't be disappointed, itisjust the way it has turned out right now.

And don't please start with the sx shit, wehave f1 here, and our formula is turning to the right also from time to time. You guys keep up the making a left turn indy-nascar shit.

I don't see how else I'm supposed to interpret that statement... Also, even from a statistics standpoint AC hasn't matched him. Compare their win percentages, Cairoli is nowhere close. He hasn't even passed RC for outdoor wins yet and he's had 5 extra seasons and more races per season to do it.

This is a Herlings thread not a pissing contest on ghosts who get faster with every season. They are long gone irrelevant icons and American hope to ease the denial of faded glory and future disappointment. Move on out of the past, it serves no purpose.

I honestly can't believe I'm contributing to this buuut

Playing devil's advocate here on one thing you said though, 'And that's while having to race supercross during the winter and spring' Yes that's true but so did the people he was racing, so I doesn't make it more impressive to me that he had to.

To me it's silly to compare two different careers from two different championships and even sillier to have such a strong assured opinion that one was way better haha

It's a motocross forum where we are talking about present and past motocross racers... I don't know what you thought this place was.

I also don't know why you're making cryptic nationalistic comments but I just assume you've been drinking.

I mentioned that because it's harder to stay healthy riding Supercross every season. Staying healthy and being able to win 10 straight outdoor titles is impressive from a durability standpoint.

So a thread about Herlings being back racing today took 3 posts to turn in to a GP vs AMA thread. That must be somekind of a record even on Vital.

Herlings seemed pretty quick in time practice as Kaidoddragon posted. Excited to see how he does in the races.
I have a feeling that a lot of members take out their justified anger on the FIM on the guys who race under them in the GPs.

To think any AMA rider could step in and dominate someone like Herlings or AC222 on a real and very brutal sand track is laughable at best.

It's not lack of talent on our riders. They just aren't conditioned for something like that over there.

That being said, I love watching racing on sand tracks. And I honestly think that KR, ET and possibly Webb will definitely not make any victory easy for them.

Just my opinion.

I honestly just love this sport and with all the bureaucracy that we get from the governing bodies on occasion, I don't get the hate for top racers that put in the work.

Anyways, I hope it doesn't rain out. If EVERYONE is on their A-game and there's clear skies, it's gonna be some awesome racing and that's all I really give a shit about.

So according to Antskan Supercross is irrelevant because of F1. Solid logic.

Mxon they gonna add extra truck loads of sand to the track.. make it more "european style track" so he can ride a minute away from the rest.. or just lap them Laughing

Alright man. Fair enough. I didn't dig into statistics and thought they were pretty close in outdoor wins even though RC did it in a shorter period of time. If Carmichael was that superior in wins and win percentages, then i was wrong about Cairoli being an equal outdoors. My bad. I'm not at all trying to say RC wasn't the baddest cat to ever swing a leg over a dirt bike. He was. No doubt. I'll be the first to dispute anyone who says he wasn't. More than anything, I was just trying to give Cairoli his due credit. Even if it was a little too much.

Guys yeah first post.
I saw the race when Villopoto dominated everyone on a 250 on buddscreek, live on the track. Saw how you guys put your hand on your heart and sang the anthem, and saw also how you guys after the event, which team usa dominated, after the event how you guys walked on the flag until it was covered in dirt cause fat Joe needed to get home. Nothing against people, no matter the race, face or beliefs. Just Zionist Jews I hate.
Herlings isn't scared of nobody.

You guys are comparing RC:s NATIONAL titles against Cairolis WORLD titles.

Not saying RC wasnt one of the greatest of all time, he sure was, but you cant compare those.

Cairoli surely has a whole heap of national titles as well if you wanna "count" those.
Not that comparing riders from different eras and continents are logical to begin with.

Dude, this was back when USA dominated the MXoN every year. Carmichael, Stewart, Reed, and Windham were 4 of the baddest dudes on the planet. RC proved multiple times he could smoke the best MXGP guys, even at their own tracks (Ernee and Zolder).

It has nothing to do with what nationality you, Loots or anyone else is, but its no surprise you bring that up, like you always do.

You just write a lot of stupid shit.

You just write a lot of stupid shit.
I don't buy your b.s. about being unbiased, and I've seen some pretty hypocritical and stupid shit from you. Like I've said, I don't give a shit what you think, like, or don't like. Not one iota. You and that idiot Loots can skip on by and not read anything I say on here. It's not hard. Are you just wanting to argue or go back and forth? That's what it looks like. Just mosey on...

I don’t think it was his 1st time he raced the 350, it was the 1st race with serious pressure though. He was definitely the best rider that day even if the results don’t say that. Down in the 1st corner & then to challenge AC222 towards the end of race. That day confirmed to me he was the best sand rider in the world.

Herlings actually wanted to run nationals this year but Joel Smets / KTM didn't want him to be all cause they already had two strong riders to compete. I believe if they look at Cooper and Marvin now they might change there mind if the oppertunity comes by again. I don't know what Herlings wants himself, I could imagine he would like to proof himself a season in nationals, but hsi contract doesn't allow him.

Opened this thread, first thing I read was "In this RC discussion, I think it's fair to say that overall, RC is the greatest of all time".

Okay, bye.

Yet he took the time to type this and needlessly add it to the thread before he left.
