Tomac said he wants redemption so I am sure he is planning on being there. Plus, he loves the sand and is our best sand rider by far.

May not beat JH there but it is possible.
It is possible for Tomac to beat Herlings but not in the sand, sorry.

So let me get this straight, Tomac; who rides 75% of time practicing & racing sx & rides a semi deep sand track once a year is gonna beat Herlings who has rode the deepest sand tracks all his life, who was one lap away from lapping the entire field at a dry sand race. I don’t think so.

Herlings just broke his foot you know
He didn’t lose an intire leg, both lungs and go blind in one eye.
If all the above happened maybe then maybe he can run with him.

Maybe we could level it out a bit by racing on a dirt based track on your doorstep that your guys have already raced on that...

It wasn’t it was greatly changed and a mud race. Also Tomac was on a new bike.

Tomac strugggles a lot more than JH so JH is the better overall rider but Tomac can beat JH at times.

Tomac won’t show.

Cool. At least Monster will.

All I'm hearing is excuses...

1) If it was "greatly changed" for Tomac, please remember it was ALL NEW for JH.
2) It wasn't a "mud race". Bikes were circulating perfectly fine.
3) Even if it WAS a "mud race", don't results for Mud races count or something?? Racing a motorcycle is racing motorcycle... Its a race. There will be a winner and there will be losers. Going by your logic, Mud races should no longer have a start gate, or a chequered flag??

So a thread about Herlings being back racing today took 3 posts to turn in to a GP vs AMA thread. That must be somekind of a record even on Vital.

Herlings seemed pretty quick in time practice as Kaidoddragon posted. Excited to see how he does in the races.

no wonder it's been so quiet with updates lately when this happens all the time

more competition in an already good battle in mxgp win win!

leave mxdn for a while, plenty of time to sling crap about that

Today's races are for the pro's tomorrow for the amateurs.
It's an non Dutch style track with much high difference a but not extreme heavy because the track is only allowed to use 2 times a year.

Not that I want to derail the thread, but what is Ascension Day about?

It's like the 40th day of Easter celebrating the rise of our Lord and Savior

It is believed that on the 40th day he took them to the Mount of Olives, where they watched as he ascended to heaven. Ascension Day occurs ten days before Pentecost and it always falls on a Thursday. However, some churches, particularly in the United States, celebrate it on the following Sunday.

I am 'Merica as it gets - I live in Texas. drive a giant truck, and have more guns than sense - but ever since seeing Herlings at Indiana crash in the first turn and win the moto there was no doubt who was the fastest guy in the world. He had never been to the track, had to qualify and race on the same day, and it wasn't sand. Thats some GOAT shit right there.

Glenn is the fmotp . According to mxon results. So does that race mean anything or not?

I was there also, herlings is a bad mofo. But remember marvin was leading before the crash. And anyone that doesnt think tomac cant run his speed is funny.

admiration has nothing to do with nationally.
If you a true lover of the sport it doesn't care from wich country a racer comes.

If Tomac is feeling comfy he might have a shot at 2nd.. I just get worried when Tomac is in a battle, he either crashes or starts going backwards.. it’s very rare that he gets passed and is able to fight back. He needs to work on that somehow

I'll put my money on Herlings at Assen and on Tomac at Ernee...

But to the original post, looks like he's close to speed right out of the gate. But he didn't beat Jasikonis by much... And Gajser is running away from those other guys. GP's are going to be fun to watch.

all it shows he has the speed to win , how is his fitness ? some fast laps wont win races but it looks to be good enough to win this race today .
maybe he raced at 90% , as its just the very first race coming back ? who knows , makes sense in my opinion

the real test will be the first GP and with herlings at the gate it only gets better as Gajser and Cairoli are a close match at the moment ... big winners could be the fans ... lets see what happens
