88 crank was rebuilt by Eric Gorr Racing with a ProX Rod and bearing (Koyo). The Nikasil cylinder was replated by PowerSealUSA. It has a Wiseco piston and rings. New '89 aluminum clutch cover and NOS water pump shaft. All new bearings and seals in chassis and engine.

She's ready to fire up! Can't wait to ride it and tune it up!

Thx! I wanted to do this one a bit different...its still an old school looking racer with fork boots, but the black rims make it a bit more contemporary looking...then, it just seemed to me that the black fork boots work with the black rims...in place of the iconic '88 red fork boots. I think it looks more agressive with all the black, than using the red. Easy to swap.

The bike looks for show only, beautiful... which brand of paint you used for the engine?

Thx...Its going to be a weekly track bike...probably more modern tracks than Vintage tracks.

The cases are powder coated. The alum finish on the cylinder is the result of the PowerSeal USA cleaning process. The head has a mild (muriatic) acid surface finish. That's OEM finish on the black side cover and silver clutch cover.

I got her out a bit...just rode her around in a practice area. I'm going to start leaning out the main. Plug is black and wet...spooge around pipe...it has 30 min run time.
I installed the stock 185 main in the stock 38mm PJ carb to start off...going to drop to #180. I'm running 32:1 SuperM and 91 Octane pump gas. The manual says to use a 9 heat range plug.

Well done! If I remember correctly the 88-89”s came with very rich jetting from factory, thinking you will end up in the 175 main range with pump gas, FmF & Pro Circuit still have jetting charts to these old bikes on their sites I believe. Not sure if you already checked but, on some models the spark plug did not thread deep enough into the combustion chamber & caused jetting issues.

yep...stock jetting is a #185...it ran on that...then, I went to #180 last week...still rich...trying the #175 today.

I dd not know about the spark plug/head issue.
