I have a major disdain for police. I still felt like the cop in the video might have been trying to relate to these dudes riding dirt bikes in the street and got himself into a stupid situation. He wasn’t shooting unarmed humans or choking them to death over selling CDs.

Having empathy for a dude losing his job trying to ride a dirt bike > Having empathy for a cop who shoots an unarmed human and gets paid leave and keeps his job.

Save me from what exactly? A speeder on the road?

I mean really, if my house is on fire you know who shows up. If I am injured, and need help, you also know who shows up. A mass shooting or caught in a robbery? Give me a break. Me and my loved ones safety is in my hands, not theirs.

COPs are great at keeping a presence in communities, responding to citizens concerns and responding to bullshit I wouldn't go to. They get lied to everyday and deal with people that are just plained messed up. On top of that, they get paid shit.

What is wrong with you to pursue that job? Do they go into the academy believing they are really going to make a difference? Do they enjoy power and authority over others? I don't know, but the job does attract a very similar personality around this country.
