Starts are mostly about traction, not power. Just go back a few years and you'll see Andrew Short on a 350 getting holeshots in 450 mains. It's not even a concern unless in a rare uphill deep loamy situation where HP is valuable. Enjoy the 350 and getting your normal share of holeshots.

Like others have said its really about your riding style. Guys coming off of 250F's will love a 350. How the power builds is similar(just a bunch more of it).

A 350 is more like a 250F on crack than a 450. I don't think you're giving anything up performance wise going from a 450 to a 350 but it has to suit your riding style.

Went from a 250f to a 350f back down to a 250f. 167lbs, 37 years old. Back in my prime = b class, now i just cruise. Torque numbers are the main difference. You will be no slower on a 350 than a 450 if you know how to properly ride a bike. I am more comfortable on the 250 than the 350, i can go just as fast on the 250 and my endurance is better on the 250 compared to more cc's. 450's are for folks who can't ride!
Yup, we can't ride..........

I’d never ditch a 450 for a 350! You’re gonna get eaten alive, bro!
May as well ride a TTR-125!

I was always a lugger and rode 450’s and hated my 12 350. I got my 19 and never even rode it with the stock gearing. I put a 51 on it and tried to rev every where and ride it like a 250f. I am so much faster on the 350 and I don’t get tired. I went back and did a few laps on my buddy’s 19 KX450 and tried to lug it and the thing wore me out. The bike felt so heavy and the engine so powerful that I got arm pump after a lap. I can see where bigger guys would like a 450 but I am 5’7 160 pounds. I am going to keep playing with the gearing on my 350 and see what I like best. I am going to ride with the stock gearing this weekend.

I'm about to find out, just went from a KX 450 to a KTM 350. Still untouched in my shop, but ready to try something new. Different.
