Get out and ride!

Family and friends made the haul to a semi local Saturday night series in Calhoun, Ga (actually raced my first ever race here in 2004). Place always has a crazy amount of riders. Track is pretty tame but it’s tight and the large gates made for some great racing. Ended up seeing a finish line send (flat landed) for the money in A class, some kiddos get to race their striders at intermission, my nephew get taken out by the same kid twice, I lost my rear brake and scared some fans along the fence (I missed them lol). Between the imprecations due to unfortunate events and laughter that ensued, it was a hell of a time. It was a breath of fresh air to see everyone drop everything for a word of prayer and the national anthem as well. Hope everyone else enjoyed their weekend! Hate it ended and now I’ve got the Monday blues! Cheers!

Here’s the race order and entries:

Got out to ride with some buddies yesterday at a private track.
No photos, just good times on and off the bikes.

Rode dove springs (red rock canyon) in so cal today. Its been about 8 years or so. Most trail are closed and the others the others are flattened by big tractors. Ive been riding tgere since the early 80s. Its so bad now. I must have seen only about 6 other bikes. All side by sides and quads now. Thats why they flatten the roads. So dangerous for bikes. You cant go fast anymore. But still had fun getting back out riding. Just need to go somewhere else now.

You went to the wrong trails. The side by sides are taking over but you just go on the trails that are on the mountain sides where they can’t get to. The ride to the radio tower is a blast and so are a lot of the other rides there.
Route 65 goes to McGvyer cabin and the radio tower. We've been going there forever. They have shaved down the roads for the 4 wheelers. The 4.5 miles into the cabin is still fun but it was full of side by side. There was a line of them. All the surrounding mountain are cabled off and signs saying no vehicles. Also there are 15 mph signs on the fire roads. Nothing like it use to be. But everyone should be able to go there. Its just nuts seeing a guy going 60 in one those things. We could get hurt really bad.

It was great on Friday. Been raining ever since, and supposed to keep raining off and on into next week. Mountain View cancelled tomorrow's practice, I bet Washougal cancels Sunday, and opening night for PIR next Thursday is in doubt. PNW can suck at times.

Oh, believe you me. I wanna be out there riding, but this is my extremely busy time for work, and just barely 10 weeks out on Carpal Tunnel surgery on both hands say I’m not quite ready yet. Soon I hope though.

Raced on Sunday. Great times even at my slow pace!
Looking forward to riding this Sunday.

I would go out and ride, but I had to sell my bike so I can attend university. Haven't ridden at a track in 3-4 years because of it.The struggle is real, not being able to ride or really do anything because of school and other things has put me in a bit of a depression. The grind will be worth it however. I am planning on picking up a new bike and will be out every weekend throwing up roost again.

Went to a private track out in the middle of nowhere VA today. It was deep and slick the first few sessions out but most of the track came around nicely by about 2 pm. I swear the past 14 months of riding here with all the rain we’ve got have really upped my mud game.

I'm located in virginia , if you want to ride sometime together let me know ! Always looking for new people to ride with. It's becoming hard to find riding buddies anymore around here .

The bike looks like you had a good time , and also yes us virginia guys got a serious taste of the mud last year it was rediculous m and honestly I barely rode at all last year.

Yea things have changed. I haven’t been to the cabin in a few years. The last time I went there I had contact with oncoming traffic twice, not fun. About five years ago they started putting logs up on all the outtakes off the main trail everywhere. The risk factor has definitely gone up with rise in side by sides out there. I still enjoy going there tho, just more conscious of the trails I’m on.
