His bike blew on a jump at village creek. He’s pretty banged up but not broken so that’s good.

That was a nasty crash, luckily he did get up briefly after hitting the ground. threw it sideways and the bike locked up in the air. Watching him ride I was thinking to myself “man I hope that bike doesn’t float a valve” the entire time, lots of revs.

Saw a video of the crash, and a picture of his motor... Definitely a hard hit, and his motor had a hole blown in the front cases.

Only engines I’ve had blow up were two strokes. Been riding MX four strokes since ‘15. Tasteless comment for the OP’s post btw. Heal up soon CH.

This is not very common even with four strokes but its always in the back of my mind when riding..what if my motor gives out over this jump, etc. Is this one of the advantages of the electric bikes? How many things can go wrong on an electric bike vs a four stroke motor...what...1 to 10?

so John Short on the pulp privateer show today mentioned that he moved from yz250 to crf250 pretty much on the spot because of some reliability concerns that were significant enough to "get in his head". cited first year model and a couple ongoing issues.

wonder what they were? wonder if issue(s) were related to same here?
