Anyone else notice Tomac's jump timing at Seattle was bad? Constantly coming up short. Worse than the others he was racing with anyway. Needs McGrath in his corner for some lessons IMO.

Yes, he was messy, and didnt look confident in the bike either.

Seen this a lot with him over the past couple years. Some rounds he’s very smooth and some rounds he’s over and under jumping things way more than other riders. The guy is a real mystery.

Marvin and Wilson made the quad look smooth and easy. Watching Eli, you could tell he had to work harder for it. Maybe bike setup?

i've noticed a bunch this year that he struggles in rhythm sections.

I think it's just another mental thing with him where he falls apart when something is off

Obviously getting his first finger trophies really threw a stink into his program.

Man I can remember him having nights like this all the way back on the Honda 450. Houston 2015 comes to mind. Some nights it just seems like he doesn’t have confidence in the track or bike and it’s just a struggle.

That being said, this year is more unusual than others. Dude came from like 12th in a triple crown event to win in 12 mins, but then the best he can finish is 12th a few weekends later.

I noticed this when I was at the Dallas round even before his tip over and fade in the main. His heat race he wasn't consistently hitting a triple lots of 250 riders we're nailing

I was not expecting that type of track in Seattle. It reminded me of a BMX course. The jumps were hard packed and peaked like no other. No room for misatakes but then again what supercross does have room for mistakes lol

Been noticing he sticks to skimming when it seems like jumping is faster.

Not just this past weekend.

Still... what fun series to watch.

I think he rushes sections and overrides the tack.
Outdoors he can just grab a handful and go faster... but you can only go so fast through a supercross rhythm section

Tomac goes fast to go fast – slow and finesse to go faster has never been his thing.

Correct. The reason Tomac looked uncomfortable in Indy is the same reason he crushed Daytona and will win at Vegas.
