Are they doing Amateur day on Sundays only now? Seems like we used to do Thursday Friday here at GH. I may be wrong.

Did you notice that at some of the races the 450 class goes first!!
Or is that a misprint??

What do you mean?

The schedule actually looks pretty good. I thought it would be a lot tighter than this.

I believe that I read about that change so I don't believe that it is a misprint.

It looks like an awful late finish time at 6:30 pm.

Privateers get to ride the track when its at its worst conditions. When its brand new and doesnt have all the lines formed yet, and then when its been completely trashed. Notice it goes BAAB, BAAB. Seems like they could do ABAB, BABA.

And yes 450s go first at live rounds, and amatuer day is Sunday. All a great imrpovement to me.

I like it! Well thought out and the best part is that the guys that are running this thing are racers.. I think the racers with business minds on here understand why all the changes. I hope it works and it will be exiting to see something new and interestingSmile

lose the womens races and setup a "class B" single moto, up and comers race so the factory peeps can see what is coming down the pipe.

powder puff racing is not what people want to see more than a couple times

as for the daily schedule i am looking forward to it.

Looks good overall, maybe a bit ambitious.

Some of you sure complain a lot.

If they move things around for TV, so what.. so does pro football.

WMA races add more interest and PR. Sometimes big mags are more interested in them.

Smile

I'm waiting for Sunday age 16-18 unpaid "amateurs" (on 2-strokes) that would have been pros making money before the rule change. College ball club model.

Nah, would never happen!

It still does. That's the day you go riding after watching the pros on Saturday. Wink

Other than yeah, they'll be some long days, I will say one thing...the light for photos should be rather epic late in the afternoon.

I was just being nostalgic.

I had one of my biggest turnouts last year on Sunday after Thunder Valley!

I saw that, 450 and 250 are a step in the right direction.

Now the only problem is having a 250cc class that you don't allow 250's in. Huh

Hate it.

BTW....all tracks are choosing their own times when they will run amateur days. Some are before the National, some are on the Sunday afterward.

Keep waiting...or do it yourself. Let's see, how many of the OEs currently racing in the U.S. are still doing 125 two-strokes? KTM and Yamaha?

Actually, here's one thing to help you out. The rule change to age 18 was actually initiated by the OEMs, and the folks in SX and MX agreed. There were some liability concerns.

So much for a "one day format". With Tech inspection from 3-7pm on Friday, that adds a whole other day of travel to the weekend for races some of were planning on traveling to on Friday and home on Sunday.

Might have some attendance issues having the race on Saturdays.

The club I belong to has races mostly on Sundays, when we do have a Saturday race attendance drops 25% to 30%. We shall see if this has any effect on outdoor numbers this year.

Anyway, I'll be at Glen Helen on either day with a smile on my face.

I'm sure there are good reasons to do it. I just forgot my bible.... silly me.

OEMs probably would rather avoid paying salaries to those guys, put it off 2 years. Money is tight...
