Purely in stock form, the KX has a more forgiving feel to the forks but they are basically the same forks. Going back to back most people would rate the KX set up higher than the CRF. That doesn't mean it's not without fault, but both can be set up with proper modifications to be better so I wouldn't put much weight into which one absorbs the chop better unless you plan to leave the suspension 100% stock.

I’m think I’m more so asking in regards to the chassis flex. I really only have a couple complaints about the Honda. The cramped cockpit, and the rigid chassis. I rode my dads 05 crf back to back with my 17 and felt like it had a less rigid feeling chassis in comparison. My suspension has been revalved 3 different times and I love how good the bike soaks up all the long stroke stuff .( transitions between jumps and landings) I just can’t get rid of the rigid feeling in the chop without making the suspension too soft. My dads 05 has no suspension work done at all. Maybe it was too undersprung.. but it still felt better. I’m not sure but I do know that the 17 chassis is still pretty rigid feeling even after mods like changing the engine hangers to the RX and removing the rear tank bolts and mid pipe bolts.

This is strictly my theory but I kind of feel there’s a give and take in precision to comfort. if you want precision to put you where you want at any moment then the Honda is awesome for that.. but it’s going to sacrifice some comfortability/forgiveness. Im riding less aggressive these days since having kids so the thing I want most in my bike is comfort.

I guess with all that being said, my question is do you think that the Hondas are more rigid feeling or am I talking out my ass? Lol

just now seeing your post. The rigidity of the 2017 crf450r was the reason why I switched to the KX. It is a much smoother riding bike. With my 2017 CRF450 I found myself getting stood up in corners all the time, or pushing through the ruts. I don't have that issue with my KX. Chassis is pretty comfortable and definitely a little more open. I am 6' and 210 lbs and I find myself without complaints as far as chassis goes.
I'm with you guys on this one, being that the Honda just has a rigid frame that no suspension can tune out. I for the life of me, couldn't get a comfortable feel through the square edge chop, and acceleration chop (17 Honda). Especially later when the tracks dry out and get nasty.

FC valved it twice, then Graeme Brough. I worked with GB at the track, we got it very balanced and tracking as it should. No matter what, just to much feedback through the arms.

I'm old, I need comfort. Sold the Honda, I'm Kawi bound, especially after riding one a couple times back to back with a Honda.

Killed me to sell the Honda, there a bad ass scoot!

Finally got around to greasing my bike (I know, I know). All the bearings had plenty of grease, but my swingarm and lower shock bearing seals were damaged from the factory. Both seal lips were rolled over and cut. The swingarm bearing is OK, but the lower shock bearing got water in it and is a rusty/powdered mess.

The steering stem bearing is also shot. Full of grease and no rust, but the race is all notched up. Not sure why that failed. The stem didn't feel like it was overly tight or anything.

Looks good but you might want to put a chain on it if you plan on riding it. Laughing

Haha yeah I'm in the middle of a sprocket change. Going to dirt tricks and x ring chain tired of wearing them out every 10 hours.

The DID ERV3 is a sealed x-ring chain and it won’t rub your engine case.

I think it depends on which tires you use. I run 13 in mx33's.
