I can see how you'd feel like a kid on Christmas day bringing back the memories with that beauty.
If I can recall ( I was working at PC also in 83 ) They cut out a portion of the tank and welded the boost bottle into it, only exposing a small bit. I think Dave Miller did the fab work, Miller's shop was 4 blocks away off LaPalma at the time. I'm pretty sure that's how it went in 83. In 82, our bikes had this u-shaped ape hanger mount clamped onto the frame under the tank, then the bottle stuffed into the ape hanger w/ a giant rubber band holding it on. If you look through the top of the 2nd page, you can see my 82 bike prepped for Mammoth ( and in the PC add with BK ) with the boost bottle / ape hanger / rubber band mount. I should restore it the thing and give it to Payton for his showroom floor. I was at PC last week and spoke to him and gave him the thumbs up regarding the twins.

MotoGP sorta started today, the KTM 93 of Marc Marquez was the inspiration.

LOL...DB The dent on the side or the dent on the top? Top came from the nadsPinch , side from the kneeSilly . Tongue Or the Mike Guerra tuned Ohlins shocks that bent shock shafts on a regular basis? or the drilled and re-holed dampener rods don't make it a PC SPL. Woohoo

It's cool to see the 250CR again, brings back some good memories.

Mine didn't look like that for long, Mitch let me swap the stock plastic for the PC stuff "Robert front fender and all", brought it home already kitted up.

My 82 had all the PC front/rear fender plastic swag...I remember over time the white turned a light brown if I can recall.

My 81 I left stock in the #plate-fender dept. But it had the porting, pipe, boost bottle, and reeds. Guerra worked on the suspension on both bikes.

But they were cool bikes for the time. Too bad they could not keep up with technology. In 83 I went to Honda (didn't you switch too Honda in mid-82?) Mitch had that Honda pipe with the power buldge in the middle. All it did was burn the crap out of my leg... So I took it off and he got pissed. He made me sweep the shop floors for a month LOL

Troy Lee - 1982 PC Husky - Safety seat, white PC plastic, shorty pipe and all. Not only did the pipe burn your leg, it melted the airbox plastic and burned the rear fender. Remember it well....LOL

81 forks, my old man and Guerra painted them white in 83 when he blew out a fork seal and they had them apart. He hated the gold.

Brake stay arm was off one of Jennings bikes, it was a hand me down to me.

Cool...I have a 82 430xc in my garage...doing a litlle restore to it. It has Fox air shocks , but I want to get the OEM ohlins...Do you know anyone with a set laying around collecting dust?

If you are withing driving distance this place is worth driving to. If your lucky like I was he will show you his Husky collection.

Thanks for the info, It's about 2,800 miles from me...LOL. I think my buddy found a set. I got the "Ole" girl running today, I had no spark when I started to check things out, so I went to check the plug cap and tugged a little too hard to see if it was secure....oops. No biggie, ran down to the local shop ( Sam's Cycle Supply here in Vegas), yes I'm name dropping, Sam "The Man" is a great guy and is always very helpful. Got a new NGK cap & B8ES, Installed it and presto...had spark. Added some fresh gas, unstuck the float and kicked her over...3rd kick, fired right up. I had forgotten how easy Huskys were to work on, I used to put My buddy's together in the box van on the way to Ascot it seemed every week....LOL.... We used to say, if you have a left over part on a husky....something's put together wrong.....As soon as I get the shocks and some cosmetic stuff...I'll post some pics

Here's a pic....Just waiting for some plastics, rear shocks being rebuilt and some logos to make it back to "Mint" condition...............My buddy picked up another "82" 430 XC for $150 bucks up in Utah...the guy was driving around town (St.George) with it in the back of his truck!!!!

My buddy's got a think late '70/early '80; think a CR430 that was registered to Phil Larsons brother Mike. Looks a lot like Crazes....not the gold inside the silver on the tank.

Been wanting to buy that bike, but won't let it go....I'll get some pics one of these days of it. Pretty sweet Craze...Ohlins themselves worth more...you know the gig...

LOL...sorry for the confusion....The upper pic is how the bike came...less the Fox air shox which are being rebuilt. The lower pic is the bike my buddy just got last week for $150.00......I'm sure with a little TLC the lower one can be looking like the upper pic..

That was the main reason for grabbing that bike.....The Ohlins!!!! But now we have extra parts bike.
