This would also nix his Team America INEVITABLE come-back to racing.

There's your book.

The rest is useless garbage from people who couldn't accomplish half of what he did.

I think that's what he was getting at. It was approved by the FIM for him to take while racing.

No , he was first prescribed in 2012 ( about 2 years before he failed the test ). At this point , I definitely think that the penalty was too long. Especially if James is still using it today and wasn't using it to cheat. It was weird he started using it and was prescribed it so late in his career. Even if he did break the rules , I still think the penalties are way to harsh for instances like this. I know the rules are rules , but I firmly believe that they need to re-write the penalty book. Just my $0.02.

When it comes to James, titles and wins aren't what define his legacy. His legacy is the things he did and brought to the sport. The scrubbing the way he was, the speed, the balls to jump ridiculous stuff no one else would have even thought of. I remember and one Anaheim there was a quad he started doing going from home plate to first base. RV clipped it almost every lap and stopped doing it, but James continued doing it lap after lap after being the first one to do it. It was so sketchy!!

Then there was the scrub at Budd's Creek in 03, I think. Or his wall jump at Daytona. The dude was unreal on a motorcycle. Wins and championships don't matter when it comes to James. He for sure should have had way more, but what he was able to do and the way he pushed everyone to start going bigger and faster are what we will always remember.

I remember reading an interview with Coy and he talked about how something didn't seem right with James after all the crashes in 2011 and early 2012. Coy and the Gibbs guys basically forced him to go see a doctor about it and that's when he was diagnosed and prescribed the medication.

That’s a short list of badasses. I sure hope we are allowed to talk about people not on that list, let alone Stew whom is on that list.

If that is true and he was suspended for as long as he was with no help from the industry, promoters that he made millions for, Ama, Manufacturers, gear company's, other riders etc.. Who could blame him for giving the whole frickin industry the middle finger?

Hey James, that really sucks, anyways.. see you later, I have to take a nap, maybe order a pizza.

So he had been using it for 2 years before he "failed"? He surely must have been tested during that time, the difference was he had all the paperwork in order?

From what I remember was , he was never tested in that 2 year period. I'm sure he was tested in the previous years many times. If he had been tested , he would have failed the test. He hadn't ever filed for a TUE before that , as I'm sure WADA would have realized it was a paper work issue. But that subject came up a bunch of times when that all went down , and there was no paper work on it.

Heard on the Pulp show towards the end that there's a James documentary coming out where he "tells all" and it was supposed to be out by A1. Anyone else hear about this? It's obviously not out yet.
Hell yes I'm buying it and reading or watching. Probably over and over and most likely a little bit misty-eyed and a lump in my throat. Many of these guys dedicate their lives and give everything to the sport we love. Most of us (including me) don't understand the actual sacrifice they're giving. I respect the hell out of these guys for what they can do on a motorcycle . Some of them are probably really great people also. But I can separate it and just respect them for things I'll never be able to do on a dirt bike . Hell yeah I'm buying it!

Sure was, his endless string of titles, compared to RC and McGrath prove that.......
He was faster, but being faster doesn’t always result in more wins or titles.
There is a direct correlation between medic mule mileage and titles lost. Crashes are clear evidence of how fast you can't go.
OMG, wreckit nailed it!

Wow, I thought he would have had more outdoor 450 overalls. 12 for the 2008 season, that leaves only 8 apart from that, seems like is should be more. Also, 39 for Dungey, I would have thought much less. I guess you only see what you want sometimes.

Well read the book, the cats out of the bag. The stewarts have left moto and started a kettle corn business.

Was he faster than RC all the times RC beat him for races and titles? I don`t understand your logic, other than being a big fan and being biased.

It’s been awhile since we have had a big post about the Senna of our sport.

Another factor with the titles/win tally is the amount of time that some of the guys raced for. RC and RV weren't racing pro long before or after their 1st/last titles and wins. JS, CR and to an extent MC were around for a while past their prime.

Just bustin your balls a bit bro, but js7 has had a long enough time to let his fans know all these things. Now he is going to use his fan base to sell them a book? Really? I am a huge fan of the racer he was and will never forget the things i personally witnessed from him while being on the track at the same time as him. But even so i have let it go myself. He hss even stated himself that he owes no one anything and he doesn't. But it would have been nice to hear from him since his retirement #not done yet? I think he is one of the most gifted talents ever, but how he left his fans that supported him, i think he dogged them. Now he what to cash in on them with his book.
Your "King" wrote a book.. I didn't see anyone throwin down on him.. and it wasn't even that good..

But the King and his family never lead on that he was coming back just for nothing to come from it.

And so what... he didn't come back.. he had his reasons, I think he wanted to but I think some things were out of his control.

I watched the kid from 50cc's, his dad pulling a bike from the back of an old Chevy Malibu station wagon, until his retirement, Loved watching him blister on ever size bike he rode throughout the years. Happy he had a decent career and is now gonna share his views on it.

I would buy it, read it over and over, and put it away. Then one day think back and read it again. To me he is the most interesting rider the sport has ever produced. I’m thoroughly disappointed how he went out but I will forever be a fan.

Nope , not at all i just asked for the total sx,mx titles posted. Quick how the sx wins list got posted but not titles. Which are way better. Pretty sure the teams would agree. Titles are better.
